*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Apparantly it's running much better on PS4 base now with the hotfix

If only they had waited a few more weeks

Bizarre launch I hope CDPR recovers

Does anyone here think the mouse movement and shooting feels way off in this game like coming from COD etc? I noticed it from the very first gun fight... Feels sort of sluggish and clunky. I actually hate it. Thought there was something up with my mouse.

Just noticed a Reddit thread with lots of comments on it about the issue. People saying it's to do with controller settings messing with the mouse haha? Others saying that's just the way it is. Will give things a try.

Totally different game. COD MW has great gunplay and gameplay. It has to, its the core part of the game.

The gunplay in Cyberpunk is terrible. It's all about the looks of the game with Cyberpunk. Drive around and take some nice photos with photomode instead :D

Level 31 with some regrets on skill points.

It's such a shame some people would rather waste time bashing the game, rather than playing it properly for themselves. Especially seeing as we are on the PC forum....

Also I have to wonder just how much excellent content the reviewers missed out on due to rushing through nothing but the main quest. Some of the side content has honestly been incredible.

With regards to your first statement: which could help you out?

I'm not going to lie the game does have its issues but the clunky character you start with is completely changed when you start racking up the points, stats, mods and cyberware. Most of the reviewers just wouldn't have seen this in the short time they were playing.

I doubt they would just release a mod as an official update.
I'm on phone so too much effort to copy paste.
I'm sure someone could check the nexus mod features against the pc specific change notes in 1.05 for comparison :D

PC-specific
  • [AMD SMT] Optimized default core/thread utilization for 4-core and 6-core AMD Ryzen(tm) processors. 8-core, 12-core and 16-core processors remain unchanged and behaving as intended. This change was implemented in cooperation with AMD and based on tests on both sides indicating that performance improvement occurs only on CPUs with 6 cores and less.
  • Fixed an issue with the way Raw Input is collected.
  • Removed the use of AVX instruction set thus fixing crashes occurring at the end of the Prologue on processors not supporting AVX.
  • Removed debug console to prevent functions that could lead to crashes or blocked quests. This doesn't mean we don't want to support the modding community. Stay tuned for more info on that.
  • Ray traced reflections should no longer seem too bright in comparison to the environment.
  • Fixed an issue with Steam Overlay crash on game shutdown.
  • Removed the memory_pool_budgets.csv file. which was not connected with the final version of the game and had no influence on it (it was a leftover file used during the development to estimate memory usage. It had no effect on how much memory was actually allocated). Perceived performance increase after editing the file may have been related to restarting the game.
his plugin fixes some Cyberpunk 2077 issues and adds some features.

Does anyone think the sounds in this game are really flat and muted, I have tried with my Z-5500, akg 702, dt990, and no matter what settings I use including increasing the bass, car collisions explosions etc just sound like thuds or worse. I have a sound blaster AE5 soundcard as well

na, I smashed points into the engineering/crafting main skill. Ideally I want these moved into cool. Was messing with legendary crafting but it’s not worth the investment.

Sorry, it didnt show my spoiler.. :D Basically there is something i have seen that you can buy that allows you to reset your points and choose again as it were.

So the whole thing about the memory pool allocation was placebo after all according to 1.5 patch notes lol. Gotta love that.

Was up til 3am playing this game last night absolutely immersed in its world. I kept thinking I don't understand why so much hate but I guess people want different things out of games and maybe it depends on your system? For me personally this game is just incredible. I'm playing at 45-50 FPS and I simply don't care it's such a joy to play and looks amazing.

Can I ask what hardware and settings you're running?

I'm also playing 3440*1440p, on an RTX3070, and I've played around with the settings to keep RT on, but it's meant having RT & a few other settings on medium to maintain 50-60fps. I'm wondering if it could actually look & feel better to turn RT off, and move settings back up to high/ultra. When I was initially doing some testing I could double my FPS with RT off, and still get 50% higher FPS with much higher graphical settings and DLSS set to quality (currently running balanced, because performance looks like dog *****).

Sure thing, these are my settings:

One thing to bear in mind is that time of day will define how good or standard the game looks. The golden hours either side and of course damp weather will really make the engine shine the most whilst peak hours look good, just not as atmospheric which is just like in real life when taking photographs.

And some screenshots from recent days:

I don't think there is a TV\monitor that does 4000 nits.
I can play a 4000 nit blue ray, but it looks odd. The tone mapping is off.

Totally agree with you on blurays because the film makers generally doesn't ship with the HDR broken out of the box. CDPR did and the tone mapping for the default setting of mid point 2 and matching the brightness of your monitor on the peak brightness is broken out of the box. Using your eyes you can see literally that it is. The settings are not doing what they are supposed to do. Maybe this new patch will have fixed it though as there are some change logs in the patch notes around HDR. Going to give it a try now.

Does this presume they have mixed the memory leaks? They are obviously aware of them if they say restarting the game may have been down to a game restart

Yeah, a restart should never improve performance until there is an issue (memory leak). So I would assume they're aware of the issue.

I wonder just how much pressure CDPR were under from Sony to get the game out on consoles before Christmas?

Quite a lot I would imagine, but it's their own fault for saying the game was basically finished earlier this year and they just needed time to polish the game.

If they were honest about the state of the game Sony might not have been as keen for them to release it, especially on the PS4/Xbox One.
