*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

About 1/3 through my second run through now and stopped general exploring for a while to continue the main story a little. I've also crafted a Legendary Contagion Quickhack and it feels like it's virtually cheating now when combined with Ping - It instantly drops multiple enemies (if you breach their protocol first - 2-3 seconds to effect each person if not) so then you just have to walk around finishing them off afterwards, literally zero stress gaming. I rescued Evelyn from the Deaths Head studio without firing a shot just using Contagion to kill the 20-30 bad guys there.

One thing I am doing is spending lots of time scanning the areas where you meet main characters or their "homes", as the Dev's have usually added lots of little Blue text bits or Yellow hexagons in those locations which are otherwise invisible without scanning first and they add lots of little backstory tweaks, like finding out (no spoiler) that Judy has a Juvenile criminal record regarding a Fire Engine, or that she likes building robots in her spare time etc.

that Judy has a Juvenile criminal record regarding a Fire Engine, or that she likes building robots in her spare time etc.

Not really a spoiler but:

I really liked what they did with Judy - there is a lot of integration of the character into the game world but a missed opportunity in terms of agency in her story. At least the conclusion of her story I ended up with is a bit odd though with her basically in 2-3 places at once LOL i.e. she is telling you she is one place but you can see and interact visually with her somewhere else at the same moment, etc.

Does anyone else find themselves choosing the kind/non-arsey replies to Johnny, on the basis that it's Keanu Reeves?

I really struggle to be a dick towards Keanu :D

At least the variation of the story I've got (I think you can get slight variations) he is a one dimensional douche bag and I have no problems picking more combative options heh. Definitely one of the highlights of the game though that you can shape his and V's journey as you do even if again they could have put more options for the player having agency.

I have stopped playing until they have made progress with it - it just seems like they must have spent many thousands of hours building a hugely immersive city as a backdrop - and then made some mystifying design decisions and mistakes to constantly pull you out of that immersion.

Constant jarring bugs, often cropping up at just the wrong time that will hopefully be fixed in time. A well crafted story that has you playing as a fairly sombre/straight professional mercenary - until you catch a glimpse of yourself running round dressed as the campest male prostitute in town - really why should I have to wear a [pair of gold hot pants and a sequined boob tube just to get the best stats ??

and then theres the world itself that looks great - if you ignore the fact that all the advertisements and backdrops seem to have been designed by a team of very juvenile 13 yr old schoolboys. I totally get a city like this would have a red light district but when many of the characters are your basic normal adults - why would they be happy to live in a world full to the brim with snigger snigger - bum, willy fart jokes everywhere you look ??

I know its sup[posed to be a gritty and adult world but there is a difference between that and the childish setup we actually got.

Oh I was receiving calls from Judy whilst I was in her van having a conversation with her!

I think there are variations of how her story ends but I ended up with a situation where she is sending you messages about her supposed road trip while still possible to find and interact with around the city - I don't think it is intentional.

Yeap, the estimated £650 Million they made after all refunds from selling 13 Million copies at £50 a go has already covered all their various prior built-up expenses CDPR have said, leaving them plenty to pour manpower into DLC, Dev work, patches etc.

But will they do so for a game that they have already got most of the income from that they're going to get from it? They have to publically say they are, but time will tell on whether they actually will. Maybe they'll just force their employees to work extra for no pay until the bad PR has died down (which has already mostly happened). Or maybe they will try to do the job properly after all. Time will tell.

Not me, because it's not Keanu Reeves. It's Johnny Silverhand, an ******** terrorist who pointlessly killed >10,000 people.

An actor is not the roles they play or vice versa. That's pretty much the point of acting - to pretend to be someone else.

Yeah I don't like male V's voice at all. Wish I'd played as female tbh
Same, very annoying. He sounds like generic thug #1 which is particularly jarring when playing as a Corpo.

I also hate how every NPC seems to respond with 'stop bothering me' or something along those lines whenever you try to talk to them. Also, when deciding on a dialogue choice a character will badger you to hurry up if you take your time.

So this is now £26 on CDKeys... wonder if I should bite the bullet :)
Are most of the bugs ironed out?

LOL, not even close plus it's a 50/50 chance whether the game will actually run without crashing - HOWEVER - if your PC can play it without crashing (the biggest bug TBH and seemingly completely random irrespective of spec, software etc) and you can put up with visual bugs (clipping, vanishing/reappearing objects etc) then it's a pretty fun game. I'm at 172hrs right now and not had a single crash so I've been able to really enjoy the story.

Honestly Im in no rush at all I can wait a few more months cause I have a lot of other stuff I want to play :)
So if these issues get fixed in that time, then Im all for waiting :)

Thanks for your input!
