*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

TBH game is just buggy as **** when it comes to stuff like this - for instance it was only after 60 hours of playing it decided to seemingly at random start showing the quantities of items for pickups from bodies or containers, etc.

I kinda agree, but its more with cars for me. im about 90hrs in and finished first playthrough and im starting to see a lot of cars randomly spawning mid air or upside down in the middle of the road. It's usually after i've been walking around a lot and not driving.

I'm not a fan of transmog in games, I would rather they removed armour ratings from clothing so all stats were based on the mods you add to the clothing or cyberware etc. Why do tshirts have armour ratings anyway?!

For me transmog just further waters down the Rpg elements. Items just become numbers then as opposed to having to choose between armour or looking cool.

I have no option to holster weapons in the settings, seen there is an entry in the config file but haven't messed with it and the default binding for it that is in the config file and popped up on the screen at some point early on doesn't seem to work for whatever reason.

I've managed to play through the game so far without bothering to holster my weapon but probably part of the reason for some of the odd things that happen.

By default, you holster a weapon using the same key you use to change weapon. The only thing that determines which action you perform is the amount of time between keypresses. So when you press the key twice you might holster your weapon or you might change it twice. Good luck!

Yet another of something you (and many, many other people) have referred to:

[..] What bothers me more really is the state a lot of the bread and butter mechanics - simple things like input settings and the state of crafting and clothing etc. - it definitely feels like there has been no real play testing and the developers have had their personal setups honed in and haven't really tried playing it as a new player.

Fallout 76 is better than Cyberpunk 2077 at handling inventory management and crafting/scrapping in some ways and that's a terribly low bar for Cyberpunk 2077 to fail to clear.

Random example...I want to craft lots of bullets. OK, craft some bullets. I'll be able to select how many, obviously. A slider at the very least. No. The only option for crafting bullets is to craft some. How many is some? No idea. The game won't tell me. How many bullets do I have of that type? No idea. There's no way to see your bullet stock while crafting bullets. But at least it's some. In most cases, you can only craft one at a time. Or scrapping. One item at a time. In a game where you routinely pick up dozens or hundreds of items. Even the most obvious options such as "scrap all junk items worth less than <user-definable> amount of money" don't exist. There's no way to mark an item as "This is something I don't want to scrap". Why not? It's an obvious option for anyone who has played any game and for any game making company that gives a rat's arse about its customers. It's a particularly serious issue in Cyberpunk 2077 as the player zones out while frequently scrapping dozens of items 1 at a time.

My guess is that none of the people at a decision-making level used crafting or scrapping in the game, if they played it at all. They probably just used the console to create whatever it was they wanted at the time, as did the devs who must have done some form of playing at least bits of the game as part of development.

Also why do cars and bikes handle like they are a slow moving barge? The turning circles are ridiculous!

What, why? That makes no sense. Why would they make the game like that? Or is it yet another bug?

I think its a bug,but I am not happy as I wanted to buy some of them,so my character would actually not totally daft with decent armour.

Its needed here IMHO because the armour looks eclectic. In the realworld even body armour has some kind of unified look. Here its random shiny spandex trousers, then some heels and a formal top(currently). How does that even make any sense??

I can try and improve it,but the game lacks the ability to modify clothing extensively. In many games you can enchant armour, etc and here you really can't do that for most armour.

I would argue look is as much a part of a proper RPG experience as stats. Because in the realworld people's attire is sort of a reflection of their personality as a person, and even military clothing has some design asthetics to some degree, not just pure utility.

If it were the case normal clothing had no armour and you had to layer a flak jacket, armour plates on your trousers, wear armoured boots, etc over it at least that would make some sense.

If anything I prefer the system seen in Fallout 4(of all games). You have base clothing(say a T-shirt and jeans) and then you overlay armour on top.

BTW,if anyone is wondering why you haven't see any of the legendary crafting designs in the shops - it appears they only appear the first time you visit them, and then disappear permanently from the game!

It would be!

WTF?
Seriously? That's utterly bloody awful.
I thought it was as certain levels were not high enough, so basically don't go anywhere near a store until you've about 200K in case you might need to buy a recipe.
Awful.

I looked the other day at yet another broken vending machine that stopped spitting out the papers bags and there on the ground rendered in full delight were several discarded cans that should have been that which came out of the machine, so it isn't even as if the renders and textures aren't in the game.

A few questions -

1. Can you untrack a quest? If you can I can't seem to be able to find how.
2. Is it worth buying a new cyberdeck or will I get one for free by questing?

1. Only by tracking a different quest, I always seem to have one quest tracked at all times and I dont think you can deselect all quests
2. I am 2/3 through my second play through and haven't yet seen any decks as rewards or crafting templates. you need to buy them. Plenty of good legendary options available, and not hard to find.

After I finished Cyberpunk 100% I started TW3 which I played about 6 hours of last night, and the NPCs are slightly more believable, they tend to have context sensitive actions like crying near a burnt home or washing some clothes or sweeping up. And a lot of this seems very hand crafted, like hand crafted routines for specific individuals. But the difference is that there's a huge population in Night City, the streets are filled with 100's of people and giving them all detailed routines and interactions wouldn't be possible in the same way, they tend to follow more basic rules about their behaviour which gives them less personality. There are still hand crafted/placed NPCs in many of the common Hubs which have unique dialogue but as a fraction or percentage of the total population they're much smaller, just by virtue of the fact that Cyberpunk is crammed full of people in most areas.

But I can only comment on the early parts of TW3 because I've not played it much at all yet, so far it's been enjoyable, I can't wait to get to the city and see how the hustle and bustle compares when NPCs have to be done on a much larger scale.

There are plenty of people going around in cities or villages, even standing still they say stuff and overall are not the robotic, silent individuals that we see in Cyberpunk. CB feels like a last gen compared to this TW3 in that regard. I think even the first Gothic felt more alive! :D

Moreover, jump into Assassin's Creed: Unity. I'd say the density and felling of busyness is even greater, but people act, have some sort of conversations, move, the crowd feels alive. A couple of NPCs were "dragging" another one, by his arms, through the streets and while I've followed them, although they haven't reached an end point (as a house or prison), the did not just disappeared after the next corner.

This game got massively rushed out. Just random stupid bugs all time that really hinder the look of the game and the overall experience imo. I got one where it wouldn’t let me change the txt options when in dialogue (which in a big story driven game is ridiculous), invisible weapons, randomly spawning cars/people. And what the hell are the random spawning police right behind you no matter where you are, middle of desert and bang there’s 2 right behind me shooting no vehicle or anything haha. Think I’m gonna ply something else and wait until they hopefully all get fixed. Also the overlapped controls are annoying as well, was on the taxi mission and got ambushed yet the taxi was still talking and it wouldn’t let me crouch because of it and kept dying... I very nearly threw the controller at the tv :D

best part for me so far has been driving round because the game does look ridiculously impressive, when there’s not clipping or vehicles just spawning etc haha !

Edit: oops sorry thought I’d pressed edit the first time but clicked quote I need to calm down a bit (the overlapping controls that kept getting me killed got me a little riled :p)

BTW,there is a glitch in the game, where one side quest gives you a valuable painting. When you sell it for 4000 ED,it can be bought back for 5 ED and resold again. Ideal if you are playing a Streetkid IMHO!! :P

There are even videos on YouTube showing this, and I am past level 40 now,and all the visited stores don't have any legendary crafting recipes anymore! :(

Edit!!

Apparently some stores are not broken:

I will have a look and see if I can find any recipes now.

I've been using mouse wheel to change weapons mostly - one of they keys I usually use for direct weapons seems to be hardcoded by the game for something else.

At a point where I'm not really enjoying the game any more - progressed the main story to the point where you can't go back until you've completed it if you continue but don't really feel my character is where I want it to be - too much unfinished or randomness in stats and clothing, etc. but it is more of a drag than fun working on that.
