*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Wow, just watched Alita: Battle Angel again and it's basically Cyberpunk 2077 in movie form - there's an Adam Smasher clone, ripper docs, Berserker cyberware etc :D

Watched that the other day - Absolutely loved it :D Hope there's a sequel in the works!

Definitely gave me Cyberpunk vibes!

I finished the game on Sunday. Certainly a lot of wasted potential. Some of the story telling is excellent and the character models / acting of the main cast and those with large sub plots are absolutely fantastic. As I predicted before release, the game in its current state is a solid 7/10. I have faith that CDPR will fix the issues and it's a massive shame they were rushed to release by management.

Fairly happy with the Nomad ending I got.

Does anyone else feel like Alt is missing huge chunks of character building? I just didn't really engage with her form at all. Not really well explained what her goals are and or why she is even helping you other than "history with Silverhand"

I think they should have had this character contacting you through the net with a bunch of side quests before the actual meeting during the main quest.

A map icon filter would have been nice for sure.

You can filter but it depends on context and zoom level, etc. and is generally very clunky and broken.

Also like some features I've seen 1-2 people complain it isn't showing at all for them - it seems the options only appears on certain zoom levels and for some people you have to zoom in and out a few times before it realises it should be working.

Could have been worked in like I think it was Daedalus in Deus Ex with a bit of cloak and dagger at first.

Agreed. It could have been done better for sure.

I really hope we get a new deus ex game in the next few years. Would love a Remake of the original or even for it to be remastered in rtx like quake.

I would love to see a proper remake of the first game with path tracing but also to really flesh out a lot of the story elements and some of the areas they never had time to complete.

The original setting was supposed to be in a pandemic somewhat like today but progressed to where society is starting to break down - but the atmosphere is mostly missing.

Yea, that would be cool.

By first game, you mean Deus Ex, yes?
One thing I am not certain on, is this whole cyberpunk business based on any lore of other sources, or just the whole cyberpunk concept?
I loved Deus Ex, still rather it as one of the best games and stories ever.
It also seems to have more causality within it than this game manages.

Cyberpunk basically started with the novels and stories of Bruce Sterling, William Gibson, Walter Jon Williams, Neal Stephenson, etc. It's that idea of a highly technological, future shocked, almost dystopian world. The world is worse unless you're one of the mega-rich elite, but the technology has advanced hugely, giving us body mods, direct brain interfaces to virtual worlds, capitalism run rampant, etc. CP2077 pulls tropes from that whole genre.

Just to confirm, i thought 'stash' were all meant to overlap, so if you adding something to a trunk it would be in every other trunk and every other room stash, but from what i can tell, thye are all completely different drops, if i drop anywhere i cannot access except in that location.
Am I mistaken?
Or is this badly bugged?

Car boot stashes are supposed to be linked so what you put into one car can be taken out of another, but the apartment stash is a stand-alone stash and can't be accessed from anywhere but V's apartment.

To be fair this game really didn't deserve this - you get glimpses at time of what the game was envisioned to be and it would have been so awesome. But this is the game they released so :s

Yes. It's just unfinished. The rushed, cobbled-together utterly crappy UI could have been sorted out with some more work. Things could have been balanced. Planned features could have been completed rather than being removed. Adding AI for cars would have been a bigger job, but not impossible. Bugs could have been fixed. Variety could have been added to background NPC behaviour. But it would have taken more time. Forcing exhausted devs to work far too much is no substitute - it just degrades their work as well as being very unfair (the CEO himself described it as "inhumane"). Even hiring more staff wouldn't have fixed the problem because it would have just made co-ordination worse and not all work is very parallel anyway. As someone memorably said, you can't make a baby in a month with 9 women.

Maybe there'll be a sequel that will be the game they wanted to make. Maybe. Or maybe it'll be another Half-Life 3.

By the way, there's a reference to Half-Life 3 in Cyberpunk 2077. It was finally released sortly before 2077 :)

This might not be a bug, but...I was upgrading a legendary satori katana last night and got as far as 3 upgrades, resulting in a base damage of 1223. I went to try and upgrade it again, only to find that it had vanished from the upgrade panel on the left. Is this supposed to happen?

Sadly people have once again voted with their wallets anyway and even with the consoles + refund debacle this game will have been seen as a massive success by CDPR management and investors... proving that actually you don't need to spend time, care and attention to produce a really decent product. Take the money you'd need to do that and instead shove it into a marketing/PR machine like CDPR's and you'll have so much hype and pre-orders and zealotry to defend any of the game's shortcomings to make you plenty rich every time. And then people will forget and hop straight aboard the next hype train. If anything it might be making the industry wonder "how much more can we get away with whilst still making an absolute killing?"

Yes, Items can only be "upgraded" a limited amount of times. Once they hit that limit they disappear from the Upgrade page. Additionally, different weapons (and clothes too) can be upgraded a varying amount of times, which is why it can be confusing as one item can be upgraded 10 times yet others only 2-3 and a few only once.

From a lot of the YT videos I've watched, I think the general consensus is that most items can be upgraded 10 times but I haven't seen that defined regularity myself and I know certain Legendary items only got 1 upgrade during my play-throughs.

I've just about got enough energy to play this again in short bursts. I find you really have to look for your way to get enjoyment out of it if you know what I mean. I'm trying to be stealthy as much as possible, but I feel like I'm fighting the game to get the best out of it.

Also, I always say with these types of games, don't worry about the driving, You will get used to it eventually, but there is no getting used to this. Something like Sleeping Dogs had terrible driving, but in the end I just got used to it. The GTA games I'll get used to. This is unplayable!
