*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

A lot of the "stealth" missions if you have double jump, maybe some upgrades to increase the time before you are detected, and have a decent amount of health, etc. you can "stealth" them by just moving quickly through the map and disabling the odd camera - usually it is flagged on body count which can be avoided that way as you just shrug off anything attacking you and/or moving too quickly to be detected and sometimes it is flagged on if a camera detects you.

(Most mission won't actually fail you anyhow for not using stealth, just reduces the rewards of which you generally have plenty of).

Stealth I found too tedious to be worth it - too many glitches and bugs, hidden flags/timers, etc. in the stealth mechanics along with some elements of stealth having massive tolerances before you are detected and others such a fine line you struggle to do it by skill.

Thanks for this, very useful info. You really make me want to purchase it again now, I must say I actually played on series x, I actually found it ok bar the bugs. I should wait for the patch 1.2 really though before I jump back in?

Who knows? We've no idea what will be in patch 1.2. CDPR are saying it's something really big, but CDPR said the same thing about patch 1.1 and that was just a mundane bug-fixing patch. CDPR have been lying about Cyberpunk 2077 for years so only a very gullible person would believe them now. My guess is that patch 1.2 will fix maybe a dozen more bugs, maybe change one or two of the worst parts of the UI, maybe change a couple of default settings for vehicle handling. If so, the changes might make things a bit better or a bit worse. I'd be surprised if patch 1.2 makes a major difference to the game.

If you found the version 1.0 ok bar the bugs, you should find the the current version (1.12) a bit better than that because it's exactly the same but with some of the bugs fixed. Including some of the worst ones, like the one that caused saved games to become corrupted and a couple that caused main story missions to fail to progress. Most of the remaining bugs can usually be fixed by saving and then loading the save you just made. Quick and easy fix and you don't even lose any gameplay. If that doesn't work, hire a prostitute (lips on the map) to trigger a cutscene because triggering a cutscene also usually fixes most of the bugs.

Many people play 100s of hours of all sorts of godawful tripe, do I suddenly have to modify my opinion of all that, too? What a strange take

You think that's a strange position to have an opinion on a game?

What about your valuable and informed opinion on the basis of zero hours gameplay.

Imagine a reviewer that does reviews with zero experience with the product. That's you :p

The point of doing a mission in a bona fide stealth way is the doing of it that way. It's a challenge for people who like that sort of thing. The extra payments are irrelevant and are almost always less (later on, much less) than the money you'd get from looting the place thoroughly. Stealth is its own purpose, so failing stealth and having the game count it as a success because you just tanked the attacks and didn't kill anyone doesn't really count for a stealth player even though the game says it does. I don't count it as a stealth success unless the only sign of my presence is whatever was the mission objective, discovered after I'd already left.

I've done the "stealthy but not really" thing on a few missions. For example, yesterday I encountered one of the missions to steal something from somewhere. The fixer specified that stealth was preferred. I did a proper stealth infiltration, the whole nine yards starting with hacking the surveillance system to gather intel. I didn't touch a guard, let alone kill any of them. I didn't break anything to get into anywhere. I didn't even steal anything on the way to the mission objective, despite many things being available for stealing. Genuine stealth - no sign of my presence. Then I decided "enough of this stealth thing", stood up and took the main entrance out of the place with at least a dozen people shooting at me. The game counted it as stealth anyway. Despite the loud noise of gunfire in the street and dozens of pedestrians cowering as a dozen guards shot at me with complete disregard for public safety.

The rules for triggering a semi fail on a mission are oddly specific.

If you're not meant to raise an alarm you can still kill everyone, you can even kill multiple at a time. Just as long as none of them see or hear anything wrong for long enough to literally raise the alarm and put every enemy in the area on alert.

Cyberware that slows time when spotted and silenced guns really make that easy.

So does hiding corpses, especially in the bins you can dump corpses in. Which makes no sense, of course.

Imagine I'm a gate guard and you're another guard doing rounds in a small area which includes the gate. I'm at the gate. You walk around a small building, blocking your sight of the gate for maybe 30 seconds. When you see the gate again, I'm not there. Would you just carry on as if nothing had happened?

Imagine literally millions of people who judged the game to the point they forked over their money for it with zero experience of the product. That's everyone enabling the industry to keep getting away with this :p

Don't worry, it's obvious you feel a bit let down and need to defend your purchase - you did great and the game is very worth it - does that make you feel better? I'm sure the next AAA turd will be along soon ready for your pre-order cash

I've had enough of the unfixed bug with legendary clothing crafting plans. Does anyone know of a way to simply add them to my character? I had a look, but either there aren't any or my search skill is failing me.

In case anyone isn't aware of the bug: You can buy crafting plans for some legendary clothing items from the more expensive clothing shops around the city centre. Due to a bug, they only appear the first time you enter the shop and only a random selection of 0-4 of the ones that shop can spawn. They will never be available again. Your only option if you want them is to save scum over and over again until by chance the ones you want are in stock the first time you enter the shop. Then repeat the process in the other clothing shops to get any that weren't available in the first shop. Which is fine if you want to spend several hours trying to work around a bug. I don't.

The bottom line is that I don't like my hat. A baseball cap on back to front. Bleh. I'm not fond of my trousers, either. Or my shoes.

I got sick of waiting for this to be fixed, so used a console mod and simplified menu add-on to generate the plans I wanted.

He questioned whether your opinion was "valuable" or "informed". Given you haven't bought or played the game, I'd support the idea that it's neither.

Did CDPR issue a pack coaching people on deflection and denial (maybe it was part of the Ultra-Cyber Edition?) Is the next step putting fingers in ears and saying "la la la your dislike of the game can't hurt me!"

Just accept it man, some people made the smart play and didn't waste their money - they'll either get to play it for cheap once it's fixed and have an objectively superior experience, or it'll never get fixed and they won't have been mugged at all

Which makes it better than many opinions on the game, which were based on misinformation by CDPR and were thus worse than uninformed.

There are sources of information other than playing the game. It's normal for people to get information from other people. The value of that information can vary, of course. But not having played the game doesn't automatically invalidate uncle rufus' opinion of it.

Waiting for patch 1.2 to drop and also ReBar as well for 3000 series cards. Really intrigued as to what performance gains will be in particular with the 3090. Not expecting mega numbers but even with 10% would be damn good in raw rasterisation.

Lol. I paid £35 and had a ton of fun. Got more than my moneys worth so not everyone feels the way you do. Sure the game did not live up to my expectations looking back, but it was still a lot of fun and the best game I played in 2020. Horses for courses.

I never expected everyone to feel the way I do, no problem with that. I was being told I should change my opinion because other people have played it a lot and apparently that must mean that I'm wrong and the game is good, because playing something for a long time is indicative of quality? I guess Candy Crush and Farmville must be the peak of gaming in that case...

But either way you can't honestly say if I could offer you right now a completely overhauled improved version of the game for only £10 you'd say "nah I'll stick with the flawed £35 version thanks"

That's very sensitive of you. Do you usually claim oppression when people don't agree with the opinions you share?

It's plenty logical, your information is fully third party yet you claim an extreme position. Totally worth rolling eyes at.

Like this game tbh. Please come back when you have a post that furthers the discussion instead of just rewording what you said before and projecting

There is no discussion.

I've given you my opinion of your opinion. If you don't like it I don't need to care and you don't need to change what you think.

Sure, but I did not want to wait. I played it on release and will play the improved version again :D
