*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

One thing I found jarring was the dead city. Have they made more effort into making the city feel more alive? Npc's etc

Kind of fitting in a way - the game has a kind of feel of being a place of limbo/purgatory. Shame it isn't a theme they fleshed out more.

Yes and no - in the dense central areas there's lots of NPC's (20-50+) around, but the more you head away from the centre the less there are - however I would suggest thats how the game is supposed to be, the further away you move from the centre the more you get into industrial areas, desert etc but if you head heavily urbanised areas like the central roundabout of "City Centre", the one with the massive blue/gold fishes next to the Corpo Plaza (and memorial) for example there is literally hundreds of NPC's around, if you set "Crowd Density" to high in the settings.

Wasnt so much the number of NPCs walking around that used to bug me, it was the repetitiveness of them. I'd literally see the same character model over and over again, even just walking down a street I would pass the same person 4 or 5 times. All open world games have repeating NPC models to a degree of course but somehow they are so much more noticeable in CP2077 than they are in the NPC crowds of an AC game for example.

This game looks pretty special on an OLED panel in that the true blacks complement the dark environment etc.

Coupled with the upscaling of DLDSR and downscaling of DLSS, visuals vs. performance are as good as they'll get for my 2070S (getting 70fps avg on the benchmark tool - thank goodness for G-sync).

I found DLSS 2.4.6 to perform and look better than the version that comes stock with the game.

As for the gameplay well this is the first time I've picked the game up again since launch, I'm a bit more open minded about what it is - seems to be helping as expectations were so high at launch...

I guess It's a lot more assets required for general public NPCs.. I guess its less noticable in some open world games as you'll have lots of 'palace guards', or 'savage natives' or 'military police' etc. so they can get away with far fewer character models.

Yeah I just wish that there was some sort of algorithm or something that they could have used so that you didnt get 3 people holding their arms in a row (I began to think that they have a serious right arm problem in the city with the number of people walking around holding their right arms :D ) or 3 of the fat guys all in a line or keep passing the same tank-top model 4 or 5 times in the space of 20 secs of walking. Some way to space the models so that they didnt repeat as closely together

Wait until the DLC comes out and play it again then ?

Is that not in like a year away still?

I installed it again and going to be doing the free gigs they added and just explore the city a bit. May just leave it installed and fire it up now and then just to enjoy the graphics and roam around :)

No clue, all I found is it out 2023 sometime. So yeah, can be a year from now, or can be 5 months. Just thought I mention one is coming so Matty know about it. Would been a bummer if one play through the game and a month later the DLC drops ! :p

i guess :p

I still have a bunch of games to play and complete so when I installed it personally had no intention of starting a new playthrough. That said it is one of those games where you can just jump in and roam around and enjoy exploring and the graphics. It has been almost two years since I completed it and since they added a few things I just fancied jumping back in :)
