*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Hogwarts definitely has its visually stunning moments, but they are only moments. Cyberpunk for me is consistently high bar graphics basically everywhere you turn nd the closer you get to textures, the greater the detail you can peep into. This is assuming that RT is enabled and the gamma set correctly etc of course. And that's without using HDR, it's even better when HDR is on!

What happened to HDR not being used for gaming? :p

:D

I've done the screenshots to death in that game so don't need to faff about so can just replay with HDR now :p

Noticed the weirdest thing this evening. Supposedly advanced game engine but vehicles and people can be rendered as sprites like it's 1995...

Also, no excuse these days for not increasing model and texture LODs when zooming. Looks pretty rubbish all round.

I started over a year ago now, only got an hours worth or so and moved on, but have it updated to get stuck into next, after this time any recommended mods etc or just go it without?

Bugged me a bit when playing especially the distant traffic simulation just broke the immersion because it was so obviously 2D. Even taking into account the complexity of the game it is a bit disappointing.

The cars/people being flat in the distance generated one of my biggest ever disgust faces when I saw it for the first time. It's horrid. How can you have a game so pretty and then do that to it?!

I see no value in this game after the first play through. Good to keep it installed if upgrading hardware for benchmarking but that`s about it really just no replay value.

God damn, this game is beautiful. Bought it and started it up after installing the HD Reworked mod and it's eerie how good things look vs anything else I have played except RDR2 (but thats more for the photorealistic scenery).

I also enabled HDR going through my OLED TV and it makes a big difference to visuals, Night City really pops.
Getting around 100fps on average with everything maxed to the eyeballs and DLSS3 Quality, Motion Blu and Depth of Field disabled because I hate them. Say what you like about overpriced GPU's, but this RTX4090 really is on another level, true bleeding edge stuff.

I will wait before the RT Overdrive and expansion are released before doing a playthrough so I can see it at its best.

PS: I am noticing the occasional bit of weird lag when cutscenes kick in, not sure why. Maybe it's when the SSD is accessed.. anyone else experienced that?

Worse than that, those sprites are not cranking down the detail of npcs, they are little more than background filler and if you approach said sprites they evaporate and the game starts generating actual unrelated npcs in wildly different density.

Really sketchy way to put in "detail" at long range.

Started replaying 2077 at the weekend now I've got an Rtx card. Loving the quality of lighting with rtx enabled and so far haven't noticed the sprite issue the above posts have mentioned. Bet I will now, you'll have ruined it for me! lol

I want to do another play through with mods this time but waiting for Phantom Liberty. I don't see any release date for it yet though so assuming that will be September ish.
