*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Is it really '30fps level input lag', especially when reflex is enabled?
reflex should be enabled in any case

It can't be any other way right now. If your input is captured at 30fps, you will feel that in mouse responsiveness and camera movement.
The screen capture of it will look smooth. And with path tracing - pretty.

* I don't have first hand experience with DLSS3, only know how HWUB described it working

This.

It’s also still full of bugs and flaws, even after all this time. It’s just compared to the release state it can only look better. Still one of the most immersive games I’ve played, yet missing so much.

I too enjoyed the game but as you said, when I was playing it I just felt like this could have been so much more.

Apparently it's only updated now so @Nexus18 can use it to push his Ray Tracing propaganda (He's secretly funded by NVIDIA)

RTX marketing has worked well on you to convince you ray tracing is a nvidia thing ;) :p :D

It's not an opinion, it's factual.

I don't think factual means what you think it does then in that case. The very definition of factual means "in a way that is not influenced by personal feelings or opinions."

So we'll stick with the actual definition for the purpose of this non existent argument.

What's amusing is that with Psycho SSR + RT enabled with everything else Ultra, this game with DLSS and outputting at 3440x1440 uses 7.2GB of VRAM and 4.2GB of system RAM. Yet Last of Us requires 11GB of VRAM and 14GB+ of system RAM also with the same DLSS settings?!?!?!

The mind wonders when an open world game with so much graphical stuff going on with RT enabled uses ~half the resources of a linear game.

No shader comp needed, the game loads from a save in second, too.

It's not the games fault though, never is..... :D

It means exactly what I think it means. CP2077 is empirically not, and absolutely nowhere near being able to be described as a 'steaming pile of ****' in terms of the quality of the game as of now. Only someone who is biased to the point of being irrational could think that.

I mean, I know a guy who thinks Terminator 2 is a terrible movie (in less charitable terms, "steaming pile of expletive").

He is welcome to that opinion. But it is also factually wrong. And if anything is a steaming pile of expletive, it's his opinion.

I am still friends with him though :D

Strange hill to choose to die on but you do you. If you don't know the difference between fact and opinion at your age then not a lot to work with, you are entitled to your opinion. You've managed to take it a stage further though by branding people who disagree with your opinion (there is that word again) as irrational for not liking the game  Link if you feel like bettering yourself

Keep in mind that they are showing it with RTX off vs RTX on, not RTX pre-overdrive vs RTX overdrive. there will be a reason for this, likely the differences aren't as significant as shown vs baked lighting.
Depends what they've updated.

Could be that water puddles react dynamically when you step in and the reflections "bend" accordingly. You could be getting more reflections overall and at higher quality, shadows drawn further and from more lighting sources, maybe physicalized debris (and other objects) which would cast shadows of their own (I think only Control has that) and, of course, further improvements in global illumination.

Not liking the game is one thing, proclaiming it "a steaming pile op ****" is another. I don't like Ed Sheerans music, but is it terrible music? No.

I am comfortable living on this hill and from this point I am happy to just agree to disagree with your assessment.

I have mixed feelings on this - there are some things the game does really well, personally I enjoyed a lot of the story stuff which even quite a few people don't - but on the other hand a lot of the character customisation, RPG mechanics like perks and abilities and related mechanics - the stuff people play this kind of game for - really is a steaming pile of **** - even games released 1-2 decades ago do that better so plenty of references for how to do it right...

This is why user ratings don't work. Some people will only vote 0 or a 10. No nuanced scores in the middle. Is CP2077 a 0? Hell no. Is it a 10? Hell no. Is it somewhere in between? Yes.

Indeed, it's a 9.

This stuff has been overhauled and much improved with updates. Is Deus Ex HR and MD steaming pile of expletive too btw? Since those have weaker RPG aspects of this type than Cyberpunk does.

I don't think it's any of those as they have shown none of those things in the RTXOD tech preview video posted earlier, this is purely all lighting based, there are unlimited bounces from all emissive sources now, and reflections are full resolution it seems vs the low res of current Psycho RT.

Here's a comparison of current RT vs Overdrive RT.

I'm thinking about going back and playing through Cyberpunk again this easter weekend. Are there any must have mods that would make the experience significantly better? I'm thinking of installing the flying car mod just so I can explore Night City from the air, but any other suggestions gratefully received.
