*** Cyberpunk 2077 ***

Some press have played a cutdown review copy it seems so there are vids out now with story spoilers.

Flicked through a couple trying to avoid things but didn't learn anything new. Multiple systems have been redesigned and are 'better' now.

Decided to give Cyberpunk 2077 a play through having not touched the game since it's launch in 2020.

After 90+ hours played with patch 1.63 the game is far better than I expected, gone through the main story twice now (easy way out and temperance endings), currently on my 3rd play through with the aim to finish "The Devil" ending. Story and specially some of the side missions are very well done, then of course theres the other characters, Rogue, Judy and Panam are brilliant, I can also see now why people went nuts over Panam, she's a very likable character :)

Really looking forward to the expansion now as the game is one of the better games I've played in recent years, I've had as much fun as I did with Elden Ring.

I know it gets a lot of hate and had a botched launch but Cyberpunk is one of the best games for years imo. I loved it!

I'm also on my 2nd playthrough, over 300 hours played, absolutely love this game and so excited for the upcoming Phantom liberty DLC which gets released on my birthday, September 26th :)

Cyberpunk 2077 to me is a true PC gamers FPS game, although I think it's amazing that it also features cross platform saves meaning you can play on PS5, Xbox and PC using the same save file. I tested this recently and runs amazing on PS5 but low fps on my series S and has some texture issues when out in the world on Series S.

I'd highly recommend playing with mods on PC and these are just a few I can personally recommend = "let their be flight", "always first equip" and best of all "retrothrusters" (thruster boots which mean you can fall from any height in the game and take no damage, super cool when used with fortified ankles which let you double jump, hover and then jump again.

You can easily install these mods using Vortex + Nexus Mods.

Anyone else super excited for the DLC?

Phantom Liberty stars Idris Elba and the story kind of reminds me of the premise for Kurt Russell's 1981 movie Escape From New York which just sounds absolutely brilliant to me!

I hope more DLC comes after the first expansion and did you know they have already confirmed they're working on Cyberpunk 2077 - part 2 (second game) as well.

Right now I've only done three of the possible six endings so planning on completing the final 3 endings and getting my character as strong as possible before Phantom Liberty gets released.

Very excited for the DLC and changes. I've been using Geforce Now to play Cyberpunk. The mods are fantastic but a stable framerate with all the bells and whistles is something else. I can't justify a new PC at the moment :(

can someone recommend what skills i should be using? Ive found it pretty daunting, ive been stuck on a particular mission for ages im just not strong enough, any advice?

A difficult question. You don't and won't have enough skill points to master everything, so you're better off putting enough into Body for the must have health perks, and then choosing to specialise in one or two other areas. But what is entirely up to you, there is no right answer, you can beat the game as any of these types of player: hacker, stealth, melee, assassin / headshot specialist, tank like blunderbuss...

Decide what style of gameplay you must enjoy and the skill up to support that. Learn to be good with 2-3 types of weapon that are ideally in the same skill tree. Then work on health, hacking, stealth, or tech perks to suit your style.

If you are butting your head against the wall, then imho you need to step back and look for a back door or skylight (or simply try talking) you can use to bypass the "wall"

So thought I'd done all the gigs etc but turns out I had not! There are 190+ hidden gigs to find, so I downloaded a mod that shows them on the map and now I have a host of new stuff to do in the game lol. 212 hours in anc completed every main mission, side gig and found all the stuff on the map. I think the 190 odd extra gigs were part of a recent patch though, just never twigged that they needed to be "found".

Good excuse to pile more time into it I guess given how much the game engine has improved in the last few patches - Only for CDPR to abandon it in favour of the CPU stuttering thing that is Unreal Engine...

Do you mean the ones you have to drive or walk close by? Not fixer ones?

Yeah those ones, I found one by accident and wondered are there more, then looked online and realise there are 190 more like that

Some nice loot to be found too it seems.

Yeah about a quarter of the way in a spent time driving around doing them. Reward money plus loot really helped at that stage.

Oh I got loads of money early on by using the rare painting loophole to farm loads of $$$ - Then ended up trying every cyber mod combo and using up all the money needlessly. Now I don't have enough money to complete the purchase of all the cars lol.

Lmao, looking for things to do post end game?

I'm just playing it these days like I did with GTA 5 for a couple of years after finishing that. To explore and find corners of the city I'd not seen before. Just turns out there are those hidden gigs to find so that adds some objectives now. And of course to just marvel at the path tracing

Yeah I did that with GTA 3 back in the day.

Nice. I'm close to pulling the trigger on a 7900XTX. I'd love to experience cyberpunk with RT but not sure I can justify an extra £600 for it.

I've just reinstalled this after several months, only to find that it won't allow me to load any of my backup saves. I wouldn't have minded seeing the changes, but there's no way I'm starting from scratch; 100+ hours of game play lost.
