Cyberpunk 2077

Can anyone comprehend why the police/wanted system is so utterly awful/dated?

Honestly, from the trailers and the description, i was expecting something really cool with the police. ie futuristic scanners, hover vehicles overhead with spotlights etc, awesome chases (maybe with police drones on bikes etc), maybe for small crimes an intial "citizen, please put down your weapons" in a sort of futuristic robo voice :p, police rappelling down from hover vehicles if you are on a roof or somewhere etc.

I thought maybe you could get put in prison and then hack your way out? Maybe you could infiltrate or hack the police systems to reduce your wanted level in an area or wipe your record clean etc?

Instead, you get shot at just for walking slowly by the police, and the extent of their actions is to simply spawn a few feet from you wherever you are and try to instantly kill you....(!)

This seems like such a massively missed opportunity. Somehow, in 2020, in a game lauded to be the most immersive open world cyberpunk game ever, CD Projekt has taken the open world police/law gameplay mechanic back to the stone age of gaming.

From my limited time with the game so far as well as reading a Reddit thread about various features that were cut or dumbed down during development, there seems to be quite a few things that betray its extended development time. Even stupid stuff like that annoying cutscene automatically playing every single time you start the game, that's something games used to do 10 years ago. The UI is like something from 2005 too.

For all the floors in this game I am really enjoying it, but Christ on a bike the relentless crashes are driving me ****ing mad on the ps5. Hopefully the next patch will address this.

This!! I'm really enjoying it. It's best at night when with neon lighting (very much Blade Runner 2044 and original). During the day it can be hit/miss. But ffs the crashing on PS5, whilst not as bad on day 1 pre-patch it does happen once per couple hours of play. Very annoying. I'll say this, it's by far the most unstable game I've ever played, on any platform but I won't refund because I'm enjoying the game.

It's been de-listed on the Sony store. What a mess. I tried a search and yeah, gone. I can't remember a time where this has happened before.

SIE strives to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, therefore we will begin to offer a full refund for all gamers who have purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store. SIE will also be removing Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation Store until further notice.

Once we have confirmed that you purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via PlayStation Store, we will begin processing your refund. Please note that completion of the refund may vary based on your payment method and financial institution.

I'm glad Sony have finally responded. My initial enjoyment of the game waned the more I played. Blatant cut content , regular crashes, poor AI. Few times I've had to restart missions. I had written the 45 quid off but hopefully will get refund now.

Next step is getting physical copies pulled from sale but I suspect that will be harder or impossible as shops we will want of the stock they have and have already refused refunds.

Apparently CD Project have been in talks with Sony and agreed with them on doing it. Physical editions will stay on sale though and CD Project have said they will continue to update the game as usual. It just won't be on sale digital until it's fixed. Amazon are also doing no questions refunds.

Surely cd project have the power to pull it physically?

If so they should, i accept some games come out with bugs well many do but not to such a broken extent. Its okay them saying we will patch it but that could take months. Considering the delays it had it and still released in the state am not even convinced they can get base consols performing as they should

They have massively messed up and lost allot of trust from some sectors

How the tables can turn.

Can't say as I can recall a game release this bad. I really hope CDPR manage to turn it around. Whilst I won't be buying the game anytime soon, I do believe in the capability of CDPR and the vision of CP2077. But its been trimmed and rushed, most likely due to schedule/financial pressures and unfortunately it hasn't realised the vision. A real shame.

Well I am still enjoying it. Still not done any of the story though, just wandering around doing the crime locations. :D (Which may have limited my exposure to all the bugs to be honest).

Ouch. That will hit CDPR pretty hard. Enough to make them fold?

It can't be easy building this kind of thing. Hell, I know how difficult it can be building websites at times.
