Daley abused on Twitter after diving failure.

What a waste of police money. I'm literally going to hunt down everyone that has posted in this thread and drown them too. Am I going to get arrested now?
The bloke's obviously a nutter as well as a massive racist. If he had said that in person it would've been far harder to prove but as it was said in the public eye it'll lead to an easy prosecution and help crime statistics.

The bold bit is important ;)

Joking or not, threatening to kill someone with worldwide exposure during the largest sporting event on the planet is just retarded.

Clearly this young lad didn't think before bashing away at his keyboard.

Like it or not, public opinion and high levels of exposure will always see these cases be made priority by the police.

He's a tool.

He said silly things, got his twitter name and offensive comments made very public as a result. Serves him right.

Far from being reticent, he then goes on to threaten to drown Daley and shoot some other random, and even ranted at Sky News that he would 'get them done' for harassment before calling them a rather colourful name for 'lady garden'.

I think he needs nicking and some community service.

Someone said something nasty on the internet, call the Waaaaaaaaaaah-mbulance.

It's not a nice thing to say to someone on twitter, but people need to man up and stop trying to get the police involved.

It really does seem like a massive waste of limited police resources.
Agreed. If Daley had any sense he would just have dumped the guy off his feed when he read the first comment and got on with his life. It's Twitter for wossit's sake!

Now this nagging distraction -- no matter how tiny -- is going to be hanging around in the background when he should be 100% focused on his next opportunity to do well.

People make threats like that all the time!

They are just empty words, just the same as they are with this kid, a keyboard warrior mouthing off.

Maybe they are, but that doesn't make it okay to threaten people just because they are 'probably empty words'.

But is happens everyday! Is it more serious because you Tweet it?

You have to take into account the situation as a whole, as the police will be doing.

This person is obviously quite thick - possibly capable of something stupid/dangerous - he's said all manner of bizarre and nasty things to a whole bunch of different people. He seems like a complete nutter to me, so it's probably best that they check him out.

On top of that he's made a clear, direct threat to drown somebody - however unlikely that may be.

In that case, the police should also arrest hurf durf, for his constant threats to "stand and bang" with people.
