Dalglish resigned/sacked?

Apart from Garcia. He blew. Except for that goal against Juve.

Garcia was hugely inconsistent and quite possibly the most frustrating player I've ever seen play for Liverpool but I loved him. He had the ability to create something out of nothing and always produced in the big games.

Also scored one if the best headers I've ever seen, can't remember who it was but near sure it was a European game, was disgustingly good.

Anderlecht. His header vs Fulham was even better.

Didn't realise Benitez had said anything about wanting to go back to Liverpool. Did he actually say he wanted to go back recently, or was it one of those "I'd like to manage there again one day" type things?

If I were John Henry I would get Rafa back, to see what he can do when he has financial backing ! Won the spanish league with valencia, it's like newcastle winning the league next season...

I think he has not spoken since Dalglish sacking, not even a word, surprising? Maybe he has been told not to say anything ? :)

Benitez has done plenty of media work over the last couple of years and been asked about returning nearly everytime. He's always said that he'd want to return one day.

Benitez would be a mug to go back, never go back, look what King Kenny did, nothing!

It's different though, Benitez has fairly recent experience of getting a team to champions league qualification and actually succeeding in the tournament (unlike any other manager Liverpool are interested in).

Dalglish hadn't really achieved anything notable as a manager since the early to mid 90s when it was a very different game, appointing him was a mistake but Benitez could still do a job for them given the resources.

I'd take Rafa, AVB or Martinez (and in that order). I've no reason to go against Martinez until he was given the chance, and then I'd judge. He really got Wigan to play some nice football (at least, with the calibre of players they had there), and unfortunately, a lot of LFC fans are just looking at the Latics and thinking that them only just avoiding relegation is all Roberto's fault, and don't look at the fact that he's had barely any budget and probably struggles to attract bigger players to Wigan.

Well it has been said there is a press conference at Wigan tomorrow, this to me says Martinez is either going to stay, or is going elsewhere.

It's highly unusual for an outgoing manager to announce he is going elsewhere by a press conference at his old club.

And even if they were to do that, kind of rubbish for us LFC fans to learn about our new manager via a press conference at his old club.

SSN making Brendan Rodgers now the fave to take over, odds on Martinez have dropped.

Who knows whose going to be the next Liverpool manager, one min its Martinez next its Rodgers:p

Was dead against him to begin with but having read the thread dedicated to him on RAWK I've really warmed to him.

Edit: For some reason I saw your username and my head immediately thought that's BaZ

If martinez is the best candidate, then its sad and depressing. Id rather give the job to steve clarke!

Thought Rodgers ruled himself out a while back?

He did. Everything is just conjecture, assumptions and rumour peddling. I really want to know who the new manager will be, but I'll wait for the official announcement. I'll support any manager; my previous post simply stated my personal choice (if it were mine).
