Daredevil Remi Lucidi dies after fall from 68th floor for Instagram stunt

Not the first time this has happened. Another one fell from the top of a skyscraper while on camera. He just lost grip while hanging and that was it.

Extreme sports are extreme for a reason I guess.

It's quite thrilling watching these guys do such dangerous stuff, but obviously sad when it ends badly.
There's a difference between extreme athletes and the instagram morons and that is the athletes are fully focused on the activity while the instagram morons are half focused being distracted with getting the best shot of their activity for instagram which is probably why more of them end up dead

It is sad when any individual dies but I'm also drawn to think of the risk he was putting passers by in. One assumes he fell to the ground and 80kg at terminal velocity has the risk of ruining someone else's day too.

Guarantee that thought absolutely did not matter to him.

All that seemed he cared about was getting "the money shot".

Seems he achieved that at least.

No sympathy from here either.. the less of these idiots that show young impressionable people that doing stupid stuff to make money works.. is good..

RIP (a little sympathy for his family) to the lad.. but really it's the Instagrams/TikToks/Facepalms of this world that need to take some sort of responsiblity.. and ban the dangerous.. "oo lookit me in stupid places"..

It's a thrill, but you can't get comfortable on each one like this guy ended up doing, and taking pics for instagram whilst still hanging etc. I did urbexing for years and anywhere up high meant waiting until in a stable position, and then taking any pics of the view etc, not whilst still hanging or taking selfies etc Full grip, both feet secured and maximum concentration until you're stable!

It's a thrill for sure, but can't let 110% concentration become 85% concentration...

Still recall climbing the crane that was on top of Blackfriars Tower when it was still being built, that was a harrowing ascent, first climbing the scaffold of the building itself, then climbing the crane's frame :D The whole crane wobbled as you climb up (as is by design), but the views were something else:

Then from Battersea power station rooftops:

The only other "high" up place was the top of derelict power station cooling towers around Europe, those were a thrill:
