Dark days, AMD share price at lowest ever.

Oh sure, for those with any brain matter of course it will suck in the long run. You know? those like us who can actually envision the future with just one dominant company?

If people would see the bigger picture (like Greg for example, who bought a Fury X) and stop ****ging off AMD and actually buy something they make then we would be OK.

But that's not the game is it? the game is to buy Intel/Nvidia and then take to the forums like a woman with sand in her vagina and make it your life's work to make sure that anything you didn't buy and anything you don't have gets nailed to a cross and crucified.

Fury and Fury X for example. Great 4k cards, mission accomplished. But no, people can't just say "Well they're great 4k cards" no, no no no. They have to slaughter them over pump noise, heat, power consumption, the fact they are 2% slower than the 980ti, the lower VRAM count etc etc.

It's like some sort of sick twisted game.

The thing is the rest of the world doesn't work like that. We drive a Mini One for example (my lady wife and I) and that's a Mini. It's pants, it's not terribly fast and it certainly ain't no Zonda or Ferrari. But the world sees that car as sensible and fully fit for purpose.

AMD on the other hand? unless they beat Nvidia by about ten thousand percent they are always rubbish, always bad. And it's that sort of attitude that will eventually put a company out of business. I've always said that word of mouth is the most important aspect of any business succeeding or not. And man, you come on here and the mouth says "AMD are doomed, AMD are rubbish" and so on.

I've really had to walk away from this forum of late. I've not posted or read anywhere near what I used to because I just can't stand the amount of BS and rubbish you need to wade through. It's like some twisted (pardon the pun dude) witch hunt.

Good! Your hate has made you powerful :)

Sorry, couldn't resist. I think that most of us, the 'sensible' ones at least (if any of us here can really be called that), are dispassionate about the whole thing. Its not a hate crime to purchase the best available product for your budget, neither is it to discuss the reasons behind that decision. The trick is just to filter out the trolling, much as you try ignore the idiocy in daily life. Let the mods worry about that.

I have a soft spot for AMD, but I work hard for my money and will not easily hand it over to a large corporate entity out of a sense of sympathy or because it's for the greater long term good. I donate to charity for that. AMD are not rubbish, but when it comes to persuading people to part with their disposable income, they are struggling.

There are a lot of obvious Nvidia Shills around these forums, Hardware Vendors love them because they help justify higher pricing, say Nvidia GPU's are overpriced and you get an army of Nvidia knights in green amour going mental at the suggestion of such a thing.
Yet when AMD overprice its a sea of consensus no matter what brand you prefer, thats just one example, its applied to every aspect, Nvidia cannot do wrong, in the eye's of many they are idles, gods even...
The most commonly word used on these forums is "AMD Fanboi" its applied to anyone who doesn't idolise Nvidia, even if they are equally critical of AMD it still applies.... to me that right there is an indicator of the mental maturity of a lot of the people who frequent these types of forums and thats why you get a lot of this bizarre nonsense, you cannot reason with them in the same way you cannot reason with a hormonal 16 year old.

Thats your very one sided biased view point. If you willingly ignore the fact that it happens on both sides then you end up regurgitating this nonsense.

Both vendors have supporters who defend them no matter what, there are also plenty of people on here who ask reasonable questions of both vendors. The trick is to work out who tries to idolise who and who on here is more reasonable... people who feel the need to write posts like the one you just did are clearly not able to be reasonable and see both sides for what they are.

You're one of the people i'm talking about.

Fascinating really that the most popular threads are always AMD doom ones.

Are these AMD doom threads so popular because people are concerned for AMD, worried about an Nvidia only future or they just like to see a company be perceived as a failure?

Actually no, it isn't. If you don't like AMD or a product they made you could simply just keep your opinions and spite to yourself.

Do you have some one following you around all day ****ging off your every move? no? I didn't think so.

AMD made a 4k GPU. For 4k it's very good. They launched it cheaper than the 980ti, Nvidia then respond and lower the price of the TI which was £20 or so higher. Now AMD will likely respond again once they get stock levels sorted so I don't see any bad in the Fury X at all.

In fact for me it's perfect, my only issue is finding one.

AMD deserve to get called out in their short comings just as much as nvidia does.

Your posts are just full of drivel though. AMD didn't go about creating a 4K GPU, because almost nobody games at 4K. And if they did want a 4K Dedicated GPU it would have had more than 4GB VRAM and an HDMI2.0. The FuryX does better at 4K than other resolutions because it is only at that point does HBM have any tangible benefit, and only with that many pixels do the additional pixel shaders count for anything. The fact that it is poor at 1080P is not because it was designed for 4K, simply the architecture is weak at that resolution due to design limitations brought about by 28nm process constraints and an old architecture.

Secondly, nvidia haven't lowered prices, Gibbo confirmed this. There is simply better exchange rates.

I expect they are popular because it has big consequences for everyone.

News of nvidia making record breaking profits is of little consequence to gamers in comparison.

Don't let the thread get derailed and closed because of trash talk and petty arguing that's what the AMD clique here wants.

Anyone can see that AMD are currently in a very precarious position and will be for at least the next 12mths so why not talk about it?
