Dark days, AMD share price at lowest ever.

IF they are working on something rather big for 14nm process then this would draw some of their money into the development so I guess it all lays on the next gen of APU/CPU/GPU developments and if they get this wrong it will be game over for them and be brought out?

I've felt this way for a while Andy. AMD get slaughtered on this forum, usually from the same people who would never buy an AMD GPU no matter how good it was.

Nvidia also get slaughtered, form the same people who will never buy a Nvida GPU. You will notice several rope in this thread have leafy said they won't buy a Nvidia GPU because it is from Nvidia. Instead they suggest you buy an inferior AMD product to try and ensure AMD stays afloat (no coincidence that some of AMD's biggest fans on this forum have AMD shares...)

That tells you all you need to know really. Most people buy whatever is best for them, just because they will point out errors in certain GPUs or business decision doesn't make them biased.

D.P. What do you make of the price of the Titan-X, the GTX 980, GTX 970, Fury-X, Fury, R9 390 and R9 390X?

The Titan X is a ridiculous joke.
The 980 is slightly high but not too bad, the 970 is exceptional value for money which is why it sell so well.

The Fury X and Fury are both about £70-100 too expensive.
The 980Ti is cheaper, faster and has 50% more VRAM.

The 390ricing is joke considering what 290s were selling for.

I forget which website it is but what of them has a 2D graph of performance per dollar and the new AMD GPUs are all on a more expensive linear trend than the Nvidia counterparts.

I wouldn't even mind the thread but the title? 'sake.

Like I said, word of mouth. I wish some people would shut theirs. I had a convo with a, erm, friend earlier and he's stopped posting here now. All a shame and all completely unnecessary.

Why should we all conspire to ignore AMD's financial situation and pretend their new GPUs are flawless?

Why can't we be critical of their business just as we are of Nvidia's. Why do AMD deserve to be bubble wrapped to protect them?

It's just bizarre that you think a company who's #1 is to make profit deserves some kind of special treatment to help them survive.

Pun died.

Why can't we all just get along... we're all PC gamers, let's all enjoy it together.

Yeah, the problem is don't conflate hardware enthusiasts with PC gamers.

:p

PC gamers play games on PCs and might or might not care about their hardware as much.

PC Hardware Enthusiasts care about hardware and might or might not actually care about games as much.

Plus,E-PEEN.

They are all too expensive i agree but if the 390 is too expensive then by the same token is the 970 then also not too expensive given that they are the same price and performance?

They are both cut down mid tier GPU's, they are the GTX 660 / HD 7850 of today, they are about £100 more today for that tier than 3 years ago.

I suppose, but still, the rivalry is unnecessary and childish. Everyone has great hardware be it a 750Ti to a 380 to a Titan X, we all enjoy and love the same thing.
