Dark Souls 3

But was swiftly put back in my place as the next dude..... Something the deserter? Or something. Yeah.... He rips me a new one xD not sure if should even be fighting him....

Haha, I did the exact same thing on my test run. He's non-hostile so you don't need to attack him. I did end up killing him but I cheesed him tbh. If you go back to the entrance to the Firelink Shrine he'll stand at the threshold and come no further. You can then jab at him or throw fireballs or whatever until he dies.

I have been summoned 5 times for the Dancer, and 3 of them the host has died before I even got through the door!

Also, hell of a lot of invasions around that area. Quite a few times when I've been summoned it has ended up 3 of us vs 3 invaders.

Aaargh! Most rage inducing moment ever!... I was farming for souls so that I could afford enough moonlight arrows to take out a dragon. Reckon I needed about 80.so after about an hour I got them(connection issues), I was firing away at the dragon, used about 50,and then, invaded by 2 dark spirits. ****you

Really enjoying this so far. I'm something of a newcomer to the Souls games as I only played number two and for its time it felt and looked a little dated so I never saw it through. Think the last boss I beat was Ruin Sentinals so yeah, I'd not played that much of it.

This on the other hand is everything I wanted from this kind of game. Started as the knight as recommended for newbies but got bored quick so switched to sorcerer and I'm loving it. Sure, it has a tough time against one or two bosses (Crystal Sage is just not meant for a sorcerer) but it's quickly becoming pretty powerful and I get to mix up my attacks. I don't bother with a shield, I just go staff in left hand and my trusty Uchi in my right hand which I'm about to give a nice crystal infusion.

Looks pretty nice, runs great except the odd stutter after exiting a menu or picking up an item (surely will be patched soon?) and it plays like a dream. Almost makes me want to pick up a PS4 just to play Bloodborne.

Pontiff Sulyvahn was disappointing, looked badass the first few seconds then becomes about as hard as Gundyr was. Still waiting for a hard boss, they've been well designed but mechanics wise are a borefest. Can I fight a dwagon pweeze?

So just started to play this and was thinking its a bit easier than the others but then I came across that hollow blobby thing on the rooftop and it keeps destroying me. Any tips tactics for him.

Not sure if people will find this useful.

But I play on my plasma 90% of the time and I just discovered that the HUD option has on/off/auto. Auto hides the HUD out of combat and is VERY clever and doesn't hinder gameplay. Just hold 'down' on the dpad to make sure you're on estus anytime you start a fight. VERY handy. And stops annoying burn in.

edit - Never mind, just realised I'm talking about something completely different.

What exactly do you mean?

I'm completely new to dark soils series and I feel I'm doing something wrong. I'm using the starting wepon as a knight that's upgrading with Titan shards(?) +4 I think. It's a raw sword. Shouldn't I of found anything better yet? Everything I loot seems to be worse. It's possible I'm completely missing something here though :)

The Longsword is a very good weapon, even if it is a starting weapon for the Knight. Generally speaking, most weapons can shine if used properly, they all have advantages and drawbacks.

the idea that i missed was that you collect some souls and hen return and bank them in a fire before being killed. then you level up. it's not so massively about armour and weapons.

I'm playing as a knight too and I'm currently testing out the Uchigatana and Claymore at the moment. I'm not sure which one I like more. Uchi is faster and adds bleed damage but the Claymore just pounds enemies with high damage.

I'm leaning towards the Claymore but using it makes me overencumbered so I fat roll all the time :(

Uchi -
Defeat the master after climbing over the roof @ Firelink Shrine (push him off the stairs)
Claymore -
Drive the dragon @ the High Wall of Lothric away (by cheesing with arrows while stood on the wooden platform half way up the stairs)
