The drawback of a game where invades are level based but you never have to level up more than you want to and there are no level restrictions.
People figured out quite quickly that it was fun to level up only as far as you absolutely had to to to get the stats to use certain gear and then run around griefing newbies.

Fair play to them for beating O+S at that level and everything, but a bit unfair on others. I didn't do too badly tbh, but still a bit annoying. Worse is the weirdos who just dance around and try to intentionally mess up your game, when all you want to do is progress in your own game.
.. Just got past the armoured tusk, killed the Knights in the Undead Parish, then opened the gate for the shortcut, then some guy invades, closes the gate with me on the other sie, and then dances around like an idiot
that's my router turned off then. Unbelievable that you can't play this game offline without doing that.... But everyone wants to have their games ruined when they are just trying to play through the game!

Then you lose the benefits of being human... I have no problems with people invading if they are trying to kill me, but they don't, they just try to ****up your game!
The only real benefits are the ability to summon and kindle fires when needed which really isn't all that often. Not sure why you need to be in human form going through that area to be honest
.Magic - You need to free the sorcerer in the Lower Undead Burg and purchase spells from him at Firelink. You will need 10 Intelligence for him to sell you spells.
Pyro - Free the Pyromancer in the Depths and buy pyromancies from him at Firelink.
You will need at least 10 attunement to equip a spell/pyro/miracle and they can be equipped at Bonfires using the attune magic option.
To get back to the Asylum I'd suggest finding a video on Youtube as they are probably the easiest way of explaining it

ive got some magic and pyro spells i just cant cast them even after ive attuned. where do i get the pyro fist and wand? i have a sorcerors catalyst but that doesnt seem to do anything.
You get the fist from the guy you buy pyromancies from, make sure you equip it. The guy who sells spells also sells a wand. Make sure you have the Intelligence level needed to cast spells. For Pyromancies makes sure you have the glove equipped a pyro attuned and switch to the glove and you can cast

Or you can just go to Rickert of Vinheim in the New Londo Ruins and get a catalyst and the Soul Arrow spell from him as soon as you reach Firelink Shrine

Just started a Strength / Faith build run.
Currently using the Zweihander and had a pure comedy moment when I killed Gargoyles.
Took the Zwei to +5 and proceded to pee myself laugthing as I was able to one shot both of them

Ah yes, I've literally been to him once in over 200 hours of play just so he can upgrade my Magic/Enchanted weapons for the achievement so I always forget about him

This is Dark Souls not Demons Souls, there's absolutely no reason to be human unless you want to summon someone or were just kindling a bonfire. There are no negatives like lower resists and half health like in Demons Souls.

I agree but turning your router off seems extreme when you could just not reverse your hollowing after dying instead . NPC invasions are rare and you probably know exactly when they are now too!
. NPC invasions are rare and you probably know exactly when they are now too!I just did the Gaping Dragon in my new game, and I didn't have any estus flasks left, and only 3/4 health... I couldn't be bothered to go back to the bonfire, so I gave it a go. Summoned Lutrec and Solaire for the fight(didn't know you could use both) but they just got in the way!... With them trying to fight it close, it was stopping it doing its charge attack, when it is best to get your damage in. I hate to wait for them to be killed before I could do any damage!
I abandoned my ng+, as tbh I don't find it as fun when you already have the cat armour, and there is no reason to explore in order to pick up items. Some kind of system for NG+ where it detects whether or not you have an item in your inventory, and then changes the loot if you do, would be cool!
