Dark Soul's: Prepare to Die Edition (PC)

just completed it , great game. Started NG+ but then was like WTF! gotta play DS2!

May return to see how far I get in ng+ at another time. The lore in the game is nuts , thank god for youtube to make sense of it.

Just picked this up in the Steam sale and have no clue how to deal with this GFWL crap. I installed GFWL and it just keeps saying Connection error when I try to run it meaning I can't save games in Dark Souls. Who came up with this dumb idea? Anything I can do to fix or get around this? Thanks

Really enjoyed my time in dark souls I, but just couldn't get into Dark Souls II.

Maybe i'll retry when my new rig turns up. I like the farming aspect of Dark souls I which they seemed to have removed in II.

Why couldn't you get into Dark Souls II? Kind of worries me because I loved Dark Souls and really want to play 2 but i've been hearing a lot of mixed opinions about it.

I'm not really sure to be honest, it could just have been that I wasn't in the mood for that type of game. I think i'm going to try it again on PC (played on xbox before) when my new rig arrives(week or 2)

I only defeated the first boss in Dark souls II so i may have dismissed it too early to get a full impression of the game.

When I first went into DS2 (straight from DS1) I didnt like it and thought it was an inferior product. Now I actually think its better than DS1 for the most part - so much so that I play it everyday pretty much.

It does get better especially once you go through the shrine of winter (about 50% through) as it becomes more DS1 like due to it turning quite linear and the bosses and environments are more interesting and badass.

Its still there but now you farm for armour and weapons , not shards/humanity. Some are very hard to get and even require you to increase the difficulty in a zone to NG+ to stand a chance.

It is a better game than the first imo. Problem with the souls games is you tend to like whichever one you play first, as being 'new' is a big part of what makes the games great. I played Dark Souls first, so will always love that one the most, but I consider 2 to actually be a better game overall. Most people who played Demon's Souls first seem to like that the most, but I played it after Dark Souls, and didn't really get in to it tbh(though it does have the most epic bosses).
