Dark Soul's: Prepare to Die Edition (PC)

Got the sword easy, I'm thinking now of using the sycthe on the side.

I used a Lightning Great Scythe in my Dark Wraith build a while back, once I got it to +5 it was awesome, used very little stamina, had great range and power and had a very quick rush attack that could go around people's guard.

Great Scythe? I played this a ton on Xbox 360 and can't ever remember finding one of those.

Yeah it's in the catacombs near those bridges that flip over. It's a grim reaper looking scythe, went very well with the Dark Wraith armor. It's quite good in that it causes bleed damage, a few good hits on most people made them panic and try run.

HNNNNNG! Texture fix makes the game look awesome! Just a few more mods to sort backgrounds/distant textures etc. out and this will be a perfect version of Dark Souls :D

Only problem im having atm is slight lag every 10 secs it seems at the start, only like 1 frame freezes though then back up to 30fps (a known issue with the fix is ATI cards can experience fps problems) So hopefully they can fix that soon :)

Okay, so I've got the game working and the performance doesn't actually seem to be that great. I'm constantly flicking between 15 and 30 fps in the undead burg (just beat the second boss). Turning AA and motion blur off don't seem to do anything.

Kind of disappointed with the performance here tbh ;_;

Are you using the res fix? That made my performance better!

Yeah only graphical problems I see is the background is hideous now and there's a grainy/patchy effect over things. Also the shift from brightness to darkness is so harsh, blanks out my screen walking from the sunlight to say a shady corner of a wall *bumpf* darkness...

Died like 10 times so far going into the valley of teh drakes. managed to kill 3-4 fatties then these bugs kept shooting poison at me and died. Went back and all mobs have respawns ARG

I remember the Dark Wraith armor, I used the trenchcoat looking clothes though, with a parry dagger and the Greatsword of Artorias. One parry was an instant kill on most players. Not gonna lie though, I did invade a lot of people in Anor Londo just to Wrath of God them off the ledges for cheap kills. :D

I'm not proud, but by god I had tons of souls!

This game is selling very well on PC keeps going no1 then 2 on Steam for over a day now its also the 4th most popular game for all formats on gamefaqs  (another strong sign of healthy sales PC games rarely hit the top 10 let alone rise to no4!!) & thats excluding retail sales. I think Dark Souls 2 on PC is almost a given now thanks to healthy PC gamer support & mods :D

Save it up for when you need help with a boss, use it, become human, and summon another player for assistance.

Using Humanity:

Regaining Human form costs one Humanity point, which you must spend at a Bonfire.
You may choose to "Kindle" any bonfire by spending a Humanity point there, while you are already Human. Doing this will increase the maximum number of "swigs" your Estus Flask recovers from staying at that fire.
Human form will allow players to summon Phantoms for help and guidance on their journey.
Human form will allow players to invade another player's world.
Human form will also leave the player open to invasions by hostile Black Phantoms.

Stacking Humanity:

The amount of Humanity held by the player is represented by a number in the top left corner of the HUD. Usually referred to as 'soft' humanity.
"Holding" Humanity - that is, when you have Humanity on your person (in your Humanity meter) - puts those points at risk. Upon death, your held Humanity will be left with your bloodstain in addition to your Souls, thus increasing the price of dying twice in a row.
Holding Humanity is not the same as being human - recovering your Human form will cost you one Humanity point from your meter.
Humanity affects the damage of weapons and spells that do "Chaos" damage. Maximum at 10 Humanity.
Humanity increases the player's Physical and Elemental Defenses (not Bleed and Poison Resistance), similar to leveling up.
Humanity increases the player's resistance to being Cursed. Maximum at 30 Humanity.
Humanity also increases the player's Item Discovery rate, which determines the likelihood of enemies dropping items. Maximum at 10 Humanity.

At 10 humanity the item discovery rate (no other enchantments or buffs) is 210. (patch 1.05 and non-patched game)
Maximum Item Discovery rate is 410 and is achievable by holding 10 humanity and using the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring or the Symbol of Avarice .
