Dark Soul's: Prepare to Die Edition (PC)

Locked at 30fps whaaat hahaha. Why listen to the community and make the pc port if you're not going to bother optimizing it or solving any of the niggling issues, it's not THAT much more work surely.

Here's what I'm thinking: I was going to buy the X360 version couple of months ago but then heard about the PC version. Regardless of how rush job the PC version is, it will still be better than the console versions. So even though they might not port it properly, if I'm going to buy the game, PC version is the only obvious choice. Plus on PC there's a remote chance that modders can fix some of the issues should there be any.

I disagree that it will be better on pc. It will probably run and perform exactly like the console versions. The only difference being keyboard/mouse input.

If it runs exactly the same, it's already better on PC thanks to better resolutions, anti-aliasing, very likely faster load times and so on.

Though I'm pretty sure they will mess up the mouse controls which is why I have already decided to play it with a gamepad on PC.

It is supposed to be hard, but it isn't, it is just unfair.
Even the very first trap, there is *no* way of knowing it is there until after it has spanked you.

As someone who has finished both Dark Souls, and Demon Souls you are incorrect.

The game is difficult, but mechanically fair. Sounds to me like you want to play games on easy mode with no challenge whatsoever.

I've still got this on my shelf for ps3 in it's wrapping. I did get a platinum trophy on Demon Souls though, I love punishment that much :p

People don't know the meaning of "grind" until they've tried to acquire a Pure Bladestone.

Oh yes, I remember that all too well! Literally running through the same maybe 40 seconds and killing that one enemy from behind (which I have forgotten the name of ) at the entrance of the cave, before realising once again, no bladestone. Ah, the patience it took, we can all take pride in that one :p

Game manual is now live on Steam:

Up to 3 player co-op & a low latency FPS feature if it drops below 15FPS for 30 secs you from get auto booted the players game which is quite a handy feature & stops laggy players from slowing your game! If they included this feature you can imagine the PC FPS is quite stable to begin with on a variety of hardware ;)

Someone also leaked a screenshot of the basic main menu from PC version:

On Xbox 360, going into Blighttown from the Abyss place, it'd drop below 5fps when you look down towards Blighttown. Really bad.

By Abyss do you mean The Depths or New Londo Ruins? I'm guessing the latter.

Either way, yes there is some nasty FPS drop in that area however it is certainly not 5fps, at least not on the PS3.

Whilst I can't argue that FPS drops exist, they are at least short lived (I've never experienced them lasting beyond a few seconds) and only in a few very small parts of a few areas, as a result they don't cause any problems game play wise, they are certainly not going to get you killed unless you are in a seriously bad situation to start with.

WAVES...

"Hey, Devs"
"Game player here"

WAVES AGAIN...

"Hey, it doesnt matter how bad the game is and your charging AAA price for it"
