Dark Soul's: Prepare to Die Edition (PC)

If the game might not make it for 2013, is it actually wise for PS3/360?
If in 2014 we don't have a successor to those consoles, I won't be impressed.
Not sure how they can make the game graphically superior and smoother with the same hardware they were using for dark souls.

Is it coming on PC? It doesn't at all say. :p

If this get's dumbed down for the kind of special K that we have in this thread (can't remember the people but the ones who said it's too hard :p) I'll seriously be disappointed.

guys have any of you played Ninja Gaiden on the 360? Is this game harder than that (I complete NG1 twice)...thinking of getting it and having some fun.

Takes more skill but I wouldn't say it was harder, in Ninja Gaiden you have to just grind and not do anything except block block block attack. The latter is true for Dark Souls but some enemies/bosses require much more.

To be honest, they are quite similar, only Dark Souls is more RPG and clunky (on purpose, and it works) than the Hack 'N Slash engine for NG.

DS 2? Hell yeah you can even pre-order it at shopto lol

EDIT: Nevermind I get it :)

Must. Resist. Clicking.... B...uuuuyyy........ :(

I refuse to have this in a souls game.

I guess it completely depends on how long they make "the beginning of the game". If it's something that takes an hour or so on your first playthrough and then only about 15 minutes once you know what you're doing then it won't be THAT bad in my opinion. The biggest disappointment for me is Miyazaki having pretty much nothing to do with the game.

Just some some images of the Edge article. What the hell is with the Necromorph rip-off?!

Untwist your knickers bro. :D

In all the Souls games you don't get the full experience for about the first 5-10% of the game, due to tutorial and obscure locations of certain equipment (Bows, wands, pyro gloves, even swords etc.).

I think he just means it'll take you a while to decide on your character type (pure/hybrid etc.) and find all the gear spread around in hidden chests/vendors/etc.

Chill. ;)

Yes but currently those levels are about 5/10 mins. This sounds like something different. I still want my ass handed to me as soon as I boot up the game. :(

Meh, Souls stopped being hard after Demon's, Dark isn't at all hard, once you start to understand the game properly (takes longer for others I guess) it becomes very easy, and turns into some kind of casual go from A to B RPG like Skyrim imo, which isn't bad, I enjoyed both a great deal.

Killed the undead merchant by accident, seems i can't get a bow now FFS. Restarting now...way to easy to aggro friendly NPC's.
Just don't swing your weapon near them. I've played through the game twice and not accidentily hit any merchant yet (though I killed the Undead Merchant on purpose).

Yeah he limped yesterday on my longsword build, god after playing the DLC I can tell you now how sad Sif's story is, and when he starts limping...

I finally got around to fighting Sif last night, after playing through the DLC first, and I didn't want to kill him :( I felt so bad :(

Didn't stop me beating him inside 30 seconds though, as I was a bit OP by the time I fought him. Buffed with Power Within, it only took 3 hits from Pursuers and he went down. Thankfully no limping, I don't think I could've taken that!

can someone explain to me how to get my gargoyle halberd and man serpent greatsword to +15? I got them both to +5 then they disappeared from the reinforce list. The only option now is to make them divine, which i did, but doing that removed the +5 and turned it into a divine weapon starting back at +1 again.

Go back to the start of the bridge where the dragon breaths fire and there'll be a door you can unlock with a key found near the church (The building where the Gargoyles were). It's at the bottom of the stairs in front of a closed gate. Through the door mentioned earlier is the Lower Undead Burg (Short area but can be annoying). At the end of it is a boss called the Capra Demon, kill him and he'll drop the key to the Depths. From the boss door turn left and follow the path and there will be a door to the right that leads to the depths. A little way inside you'll see a butcher type enemy and a chest next to it with an item called the Large ember. Give that to the blacksmith and you can upgrade your weapon to +10 with Large Titanite shards. Youtube a let's play of some sort if you want a visual guide :).

Oh, and modify your weapons back to +5, divine weapons suck for all but 1 area of the game.

gah! missed that because was terrified of the butcher. Thanks for the clear explanation, will head back and pick it up.

Im assuming i need to find something else to go from +10 to +15?

The Very Large Ember. It can be a huge PITA to get even for people that have done it numerous times. Youtube 'Very Large Ember' and a decent guide should come up :).
