Sales figures

Sales figures always confuse me because they never seem to include everything :p. It's always only Japanese sales, only digital sales etc. I was under the impression that digital sales of the PC alone were 150k.

It's quite interesting to see how the 360 figures seemly overshadow the PS3 figures though despite being the lesser version (or so I've heard).

It's understandable, as Dark Souls is something that the PS3 has a lot of, well, in the JRPG style anyway. 360 doesn't so DS was something heavily craved on the 360.

Really love the new Dark souls 2 trailer, I'm really into the new mechanics in the gameplay it looks a lot more unforgiving than the first. The enemies certainly look tough hopefully the characters will have a few extra tweaks to balance that out. I love the constant challenge of the game. I played Dark Souls : PTDE non-stop for weeks and weeks since it came out.

PVP is so hit or miss. Last night 9/10 people were awesome to fight against. Would wave/bow before the fight, let you buff your weapons and actually try to fight with skill but today I've fought about 4 people and 2 were backstab fishers that just ran straight in as soon as they spawned and another 1 was just using Dark Magic. So frustrating

Yes it is very hit and miss. I love the PvP mechanic (invasions / covenants) when it is not abused. I don't even mind the not bowing, or hiding in your game waiting in ambush (the first time someone used the chameleon spell on me was fantastic!). I understand however if you are summoning someone for a duel (red soapstone) that buffs, bows etc are in keeping with the duel.

I do think PvP would benefit from some refinement in Dark Souls 2 however.

When the game was initially released on the 360 I loved having players invade my game, it added a whole new dynamic and there was very rarely a case of a player that had went through the game keeping their soul level low to grab all the best gear and equipment upgrades to come back and invade a genuine low level player.

When I play the game now this is more often than not the case...

Still, I always put up as best a fight as I can, and am not always easy prey :)

Nicely done. Took me about 3 weeks to get all achievements over Christmas, and that was only because I had a proper plan of how to get everything. Definitely one of my prouder games to 100% :)

I don't mind people using Dark Magic, as it's still avoidable if you're quick enough. I do despise people who aren't honourable to fight against though, either because they attack me while I'm bowing, or have deliberately kept their level low while becoming overpowered. I've done that for a one shot boss challenge, and while still SL1 I had a fully upgraded Pyromancy Flame and every spell, and I could have beasted anyone if I invaded them, but I didn't. Hopefully in DS2 they'll figure out some way to make sure that the people who can invade you are of a more similar level equipment wise as well as Soul Level wise.

Got through the top of blighttown and now in the swamps.
Blighttown wasn't that difficult really, well it shouldn't have been but still took me ages. Fell off the side a few times because camera locked on and got stuck behind something. I stopped to look around to see what I had missed and that fatty with a club who hides in the tunnel rushed out and clubbed me off the side. I made it to the bonfire on the bridge and activated it then my sister came in so I was talking to her. I ran off without sitting down and then died so had to rerun the top half again lol, idiot.

I have gone up that watermill type thing and ran around then came across 3 snipers and got poisoned quite quickly as I couldn't miss all 3. Been running around in the shadow leggings/gear stuff looks cool and moves fast and really hasn't been that much of an issue. I was using the knight stuff before but it was so clunky and heavy really slowed me down.

Only took me three days to get most of the time sink ones. Got all but the lightning weapon and regular upgrade path weapon achievements, all rare weapons and all miracles/sorceries in this time :D. Granted I played a lot in those two days and I was playing a character that had a lot of what I needed to get everything (Gold serpent ring, lots of humanity, lots of upgrade stones and souls to buy them etc).

The lag can make it so that a perfect roll isn't enough to avoid it which is really frustrating, especially when they spam it. Lag backstabs are doing my absolute head in though, if they're in my world they should be the ones who have the lag, not me. Being backstabbed when I'm behind them on my screen is annoying as ****.

Got through the swamp but actually managed to avoid the boss all together so have gone back ha. Did how ever go through the hollow tree this time and picked up a ring that boosts my stamina recharge rate quite a lot and am now in Ash lake. Finding that hydra a pain on the few attempts I have tried. When I have managed to hit it done very little damage at this rate would take me about an hour!

I have been cursed since before blighttown as well so doing all this on 50% health is a real pain in the behind.

Have fun getting back up to Blighttown from Ash Lake, it's a pain :p. Oh, and if you're still in Ash Lake farm those clams for a little while with a couple of soft humanity. They drop purging stones which heal curse.

I did look to see how to remove the curse and it said something about a merchant some where I wasn't near or able to get near and I didn't look again. I shall try and get some of those clams and remove it. I can't get humanity can I whilst cursed? I need to reverse hollowing and when I tried before said I couldn't due to curse.

Ah, that's possible. Never been cursed long enough to notice :p.

You can collect Humanity consumables while cursed, but you can't accumulate humanity through killing enemies like you normally would.

The merchant is Oswald of Carim, you'll have met him after ringing the first Bell of Awakening after beating the Belfry Gargoyles. He sells Purging Stones for a few thousand souls each.

Another way of removing the curse, though you may not want to (or be able to), is to equip a Rare Ring of Sacrifice and then kill yourself. The ring will retain your humanity and souls, as well as removing any status effects (including curse) when you die.
