KNiVES said:Yes, in the context that it encourages developers to release unfinished and buggy products, which is a pretty common trend right now. You're the moron here if you can't see that (especially if you use the word 'noob'). The amount of games that come out only to get patches on the first week of release is not funny. Stalker for example, was a mess until the 10001 patch which came out a week later. And precious Gears of War got a day 1 patch, because the multiplayer aspect of the game wasn't playtested properly. We're not supposed to get that with console games. If you say we are, then all the more folly for thinking that *gasp* there are people who don't have internet connections to their 360s and Playstations.
Complete and clean packages at release should be the norm, but it's not - and people of your mentality are why developers are rubbing their hands in glee at early releases for maximum profit at the disadvantage of the gamers themselves. No Quality Assurance? Don't care, lovely Psycho Sonny can happily wait for a patch.
you cannot playtest for everything and this is a console update thread not specific games the actual console itself, steam isnt a game its just a tool you use to play games, consoles should be updated with new patches and updates to improve their OS all the time, games on the other hand shouldnt need patches but without them they would be majorly flawed, and werent gears of war trying to give away new maps for free etc? they are trying to run a games company you know and at the end of the day i dont see them as doing anything wrong, but come on the xbox only gets 1 real update a year thats poor by anyones standards
