Dashcams!

Nothing spectacular, some would even call it inane :D But still, this made me giggle mostly because I always keep an eye on the lights and traffic status in order to be able to switch to lane 2 to take the left exit and bypass slow/standstill traffic on the left. Van driver got played :o

He ended up tens of cars behind.

Wired my dashcam in to the fuses on Monday. Works fine but why make it so you have to take the glove box out to change a fuse?!

Currently driving round with no glove box.

Had the car 72 hours :D

This looks like Fareham next to Tescos?

It is two-fold. The white van polices the road for whatever reason, the BT van tried to be sneaky and avoid a red light by cutting lanes into the green light lane which also goes left (or right/forwards). I do this often, except switch lanes early after observing the traffic lights and flow as it means not stopping at a set of lights.

Obviously his luck ran out for that day.

I got my Rexing V1 set up today, pretty chuffed with it for £40.

Here's some very boring test footage - change it to 1080p for the best quality version.

Because of the shape of it it's seriously discreet, I can barely see it from my driving position and even from outside you probably wouldn't even notice it.

I've mounted it ever so slightly too high, which is why you can see a few of the dots on the windscreen. I'll get that sorted when I can be bothered.

I was considering this cam myself. Does it have any parking monitoring (assuming not at the price)? Have you got it wired to the 12v?

If the answer is no to the monitoring, I'd appreciate any other suggestions from members for an alternative. Ideally, I'd like something that has a similar design i.e. Not a suction mounted cam.

Picking up my new car tomorrow and it will be parked on suburban streets away from my flat. Having parked monitoring and a discreet cam are desirable !

Cheers

Excuse the quality but I had to edit this and upload on my phone as I am sans PC at the moment so the quality is scaled down.

Bloody moron pulls out right in front of me on a 60mph road. I was wary of the junction so was easing off anyway, but thank goodness I have good brakes on my Zed (best upgrade ever!) And reasonable reactions.

The old codger's car was completely mangled at the front and his near side tyre is on the rim. So he either has a habit of crashing his car or was drunk or both or is just absolutely in his own world. That could have been a big smash. I was doing the NSL earlier but as I said I eased off but was still going at a fair speed as he started to pull out.

Nice braking. If that had been me in our XC90 I'd have chopped his car in half and come to a halt somewhere up the road :D

I love how his mother calmly says, "It brakes well" :D

If it'd been anything other than a performance car with new performance brakes, there would've been a nasty smash there.

Ha! Yeah. Had I been on a bike though... Makes me shudder.

you should have heard the conversation a bit earlier about how it accelerates! :D she trusts me and my driving and is generally a calm lady. :)

I think the stock brakes would have been fine, but either way I'm glad I upgraded!

No it doesn't have any of those features I'm afraid.

At the moment I have it wired to the 12v output in the arm rest, all cables are hidden for the most part. However I will be wiring it into the fuse box near the glovebox when the kit I've ordered arrives.
