Dashcams!

Its not a great review video unfortunately, skips over the new features and as you say the quality of the video is questionable. It looks like it has focused on his dash possibly?

Hopefully the Techmoan guy will review it soon as he goes into good detail on the quality of the recording and zooms in at a variety of mega pixel ratings.

It feels like that camera should still be in Beta testing stage, its rough around all the edges as it stands.

Yeah just having a read and doesn't sound good on this revision. I gather the 0806 had the same early problems and even now a couple years later some still do :o One to keep an eye on though if these are ironed out. I'd rather not leave one recording 24/7 (car battery drain?) but some sort of lower fps recording when parked would be good.

Does anyone have a rear view mirror dashcam, the sort that clip over your existing rear view mirror. If so, which is the best to use and has anyone used a camera that your put on your rear window to watch that way too?

I'm looking to spend max £150 for both front and rear facing.

Looking at getting myself a dashcam soon. Was originally set on getting the ThinkWare F750 but with the F770 release coming soon I'm considering getting that instead.

Sounds like a good improvement over the F750, what are chances of it having bugs on release?

I think it's overpriced! just get a mini 806 or look at techmoan channel on youtube and get one you like, I wouldn't pay over a £100 for a dashcam.

Guys sorry to be a retard but I'm struggling to find any solid recommendations for a cheap and effective dashcam... Lets say £50 max... Would someone be so kind as to give me an option or two please :)

Theres a reason its costly, its got tons of features above n beyond normal cheapo dashcams. I had the F750 both front and rear in my last car and loved it. It just worked and the parking surveillance option was great.

I'm waiting on the F770 too for my new motor now. Its got better night vision which was the only area the F750 wasnt very good at.

I do like my xiaomi yi dashcam.. it's not as good quality wise as 0806(imo) and it's not as small(think go pro) but it does the job and seems to be reliable enough(aka have had no issues with it at all) it is all in chinese(menus) but phone app is english and it can be controlled over that.

here's a sample video(no original audio due to copyright :o)

Budget £175 , What's the best i can get for that budget? Really after something without a built in screen and fairly unobtrusive if possible.

And I bet they have better reliability too...I mean since Howard said his 0805 has been solid for him, 2 other people have said their 0806 has faults and mrk for a new one because his has audio problem.

As much as I want to get a 0806, the reliability issue puts me off.

That's why I bought an 0805 instead :p

Although the quality is not as good as most others, I've stuck with this Dashcam as I think it's less noticeable than others (from the outside) and does have options for other uses if I wanted.

At some point I'll get the rear facing camera fitted for example.

I was very annoyed when I 'upgraded' to the 0806 from the 0805 as it had soooo many issues

Those ThinkWares look like a really nice quite discreet design

It says choose a capacity, but they also have a microSD slot right?

They do yes. They provide the SD Card. So if you choose the 64gb + 32gb you'll get a 64gb and 32gb microSD.

They're probably one of the best cameras available from what I've seen, of course they have the slight premium but for no fuss and the additional features I'd say they're worth it. :D

Anyone with a bit of Experience able to advise what's best

I'm torn between the Thinkware F750 , But don't really need Lane Departure Warnings, and Already have Camera Alerts through the satnav. And the KoonLung K1S With front/rear.

AFAIK , both are GPS and have front and Rear... But there is a £100 difference between them.

Do i really need a rear camera? It can't hurt i imagine. Does either have a better sensor? Hard to tell from what i'm reading.

Thanks
