Dashcams!

My K1S works just fine with a 128 GB SD card.

For me, the F770 is far too visible from the front.

I liked the look/idea of the K1S but I read up on too many people having problems with them. I need one that I can just sit and leave without worrying about!

+1 for the Thinkware F750/F770.

Had ours fitted for £30 by our local auto electrician. Took him about 20mins to fit, including the hardwire kit. Watched him whilst he did it. The worst part was running the cable. Although the front cam is fairly large in size, not that worried about it being seen to be honest, as it looks from the outside part of all the other gubins in that general area of the screen.

The only thing I would change however is the cable running from the rear cam into the main unit, its not angled on entering the cam, so purchased a cheap USB Micro 5P Female to 5P Male Left Right Down Up Angled Extension Cable Adapter off the bay, and will get it changed when I get the chance. Makes for a better looking fit, nice and neat.

I have the F750, and it is very sensitive, but can be adjusted in the setings - Low Medium and High. I have mine set to Medium, and it picks up just about everything :D

Zoomee, trust me the details of the guy in Huddersfield bud, need to ask him about a possible install. It was me who posted about RAC not being able to do it !

Hi All,

Looked through the thread fairly lengthy now and still stuck on finding a dual camera (for the wife) for around £75 or less...£100 at a push.

I was considering just buying 2, as mentioned previously in the thread.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

Got mine from Lidl on Monday - £35 inc memory card lol.

Not bad quality even in dim light. Unsure on what the night time performance is like but quite impressed. :)

Just hard-wired in a Rexing V1. Under £50 including the wiring kit and memory card.
It's spot on. Couldn't justify paying any more at this time for a dash cam.

Snip*

Yeah completely agree - they went to the extent of providing a hidden cover on the F770 and go and spoil it with the rear camera lol. Got a link you can trust me for this adapter please bud?

Even if we take ADAS out of the equation many reviewers have reported superior quality recording on the Thinkware F7x0 compared to the Blackvue 650. (The Blackvue 650 also needs an additional module for parking mode to work and it still doesn't have a battery monitor built-in). Sooooo glad I waited for the F770!

Just upgraded mine to 64Gb with a samsung micro-sd card - works a treat :)
Apparantly it can take 128Gb cards too but Thinkware don't recommend them as they can become unreliable quickly for some reason.

Thinkware only recommend their memory cards. I tried to upgrade mine in my F750 and all 3 cards I bought didn't work. I contacted Thinkware and they said that they don't support other cards and can't guarantee they work.

Have you got a link to the card you used?

Just search this in the bay:
USB Micro 5P Female to 5P Male Left Right Down Up Angled Extension Cable

Its 99p, from the far east, takes a couple of weeks, but they do work, well the ones I have do.

Funny you say that! - It was all performing ok until I jumped in the car yesterday and noticed no notifications about motion detection etc, it just went straight to "Please format memory card"!!! - I formatted it and its back to working ok. Let me monitor it for the next couple of weeks dude before I commit to saying it works fine!

Yeah seen that bud - couldn't figure out which one it was I actually needed as theres then a selection dropdown box to select different angle types etc.?

Well that will depend on where you want the cable to run to from exiting the cam. The only difference between the "Left and Right" option is the connector that plugs into the cam. One will send the cable down from the cam connector and the other will send the cable up from cam connector. If your unsure which you need, then buy both. At 99p each its not going to break the bank.

By the way the unit will remind you every couple of weeks about formatting your memory card.

Thats a packet of Strawberry laces man! :) Good point though! - Hardly going to break the bank ordering both lol :)

Yeah I recall the F750 used to ask to format about once a month but this was wierd - it just went straight to "Format memory card" without any alerts about motion detection etc and I've only had it in there since monday.

Don't think I can link the card as its from the rain forest - Here's the description:
Samsung Memory 64 GB EVO MicroSDXC UHS-I Grade 1 Class 10 Memory Card with SD Adapter (Frustration Free Packaging)

Twas a hotukdeal thing for only £12.90 so no great loss if it doesn't work, will report back soon.
