Going to be ordering my camera around payday. I want front and rear and plan to get the F770, the m6+ has peaked my interest though.

How are you connecting the phone and camera? In the instructions it says to not connect the phone to the wifi network broadcast by the camera but to open to Youmera app, pless + to search and then select DDPai in the wifi list.

That doesn't mean a great deal to me though as I've got an iPhone.

I need to find some sort of Windows application that'll play back the footage and overlay a map of the GPS data. Something like Registration Viewer would be ideal but that doesn't seem to work with the M6+.

And this is why DRL implementations need a re-think on many cars. Tried to signal this woman many times and many ways. All efforts failed, totally oblivious :/ She probably got home and posted on FB about how some maniac drivers were trying to road rage her

I pulled alongside one at some traffic lights and told her lights were not on. Her reply was "it's OK they are automatic" and drove off. :eek:

At least they had break lights! Was following a van yesterday which apparently didn't have any, that was interesting.

The lights on the dash coming on without the lights on is a bigger problem than DRLs in my opinion. Nothing told you your lights were off better than looking at a completely dark speedo.

Good news...

I ordered my Nextbase 312gw online from halfords where it knocked the 20% off for a px bringing the total to £71.20, i went to pick it up this morning, along with the hardwire kit, they proceeded to knock a further 20% off, bringing the total for a 312GW + hard wire kit to £76.40

I've gone ahead and fitted it using one of the 20a fuses behind the glove compartment and it's working perfect, switching on and recording from switching ignition on, then switching off when ignition is switched off which is good.

However, i've somehow triggered a passenger restraint system warning

(BMW F10)

Looks like i'll have to call in the dealer tomorrow and have them reset it, hopefully it'll be fine under warranty.

so what is it with bloody dash cams!! i did not have one for about the 1st 11 years, and had all sorts of near misses, then last 3-4 years i have had one NOTHING, then the last 3 weeks i have not had one due to it breaking, i have nearly been killed twice....

To be fair, I got mine cheaper than I should have.

It's in halfords for £89, then you get 20% off if you trade in an old sat nav / dash cam or stereo. When you order online, it does this for you, I just got a dopey sales person who then knocked a further 20% off.

20a seems awfully high. 2a would probably suffice, that's what I'm using.

Yeah, 20A is far too high, if the cable shorted I would suspect it'd just melt spectacularly before the fuse would blow..

Nextbase instructions say upto 20a is fine, it still has its own 2a fuse for the cam itself, it's just piggybacking the space

Apologies if this has been posted, but are there any dashcams that can come on after any knocks to the car or similar? Even with the ignition off

I had a hit and run incident in a car park the other day and was lucky enough to have people see it and give me the details so I'm getting it paid for by her now, but that is unlikely to be the case next time?

I leave my dashcam running when I'm in a car park.
