Dashcams!

Agree to raise it higher - use the WIFI app to determine how high it can go. Once its setup you don't really need to touch it again so don't worry about obscuring buttons etc.

That black sticky pad should be in line with the sun guard - it'll help hide the camera from the outside and should give a slightly better angle looking down on to the bonnet (mine just catches the front bonnet in the picture - only just like but yeah :) )

PS - Thanks for the link above - I'll look into it once the polaris0r arrives :>

I did use the app to position correctly (took me a long time to find it) I cant go any higher due to the black stuff

I like it that side as the lens is nearer the centre, also I can take the memory card out easier and get to the buttons :)

what do you think then?

I would move it to the passenger side of the mirror and raise it up 1 or 2 inches..

I notice you stuck the sticky pad on the base, then put the base on the windscreen,. Schoolboy error! That only results in air bubbles as the windscreen isn't perfectly flat. Apply to windscreen first, then press the pad onto the glass to apply pressure all over and remove all gaps.

haha yep, error on my part, but I didn't secure it properly, as I moved it a hundred times until I was happy with it, I can pull that off when I want to, if im happy where it is, ill do it properly :)

Just arrived this morning - and sods law no sign of the sun this morning!!! Will get it fitted and do some testing over the weekend chaps.

Personally I'd disgaree bud - looking at shiwarriors pictures the camera is on the right of the unit - If he moves it to the passenger side it will be further away from the centre of the windscreen than where it currently is.

Yes, if you look at the screencap I posted I put mine on the passenger side and get some of the A pillar in because of it. I may be able to move it over more to the right but didn't at the time as it looked fine when I installed it (was getting dark).

The F770 already has the sticky pad on the camera! Sticking it on beforehand does make a lot more sense though, the air bubble is annoying me and I'm not even on the road at the minute! :(

Darn the british weather! lol

Installed the polariz0r no problem - it just clipped onto the front. I did a quick view on the phone and it looked a bit darker than usual so might need to compensate by turning up the brightness. NO dash reflection at all though which is awesome!

Not had time to check it properly - been out for a bezz in the motor just now but it's a cloudy muggy day :( - sod's law knowing my luck that's the sun gone till next year lol

Will try and get a vid sorted over the weekend.

Polariser won't remove the heated windscreen lines :p It will merely equalise glare and reflections depending on the rotation.

yes, I know what a polariser filter does (I have one on my camera)

What I was trying to say really was the reflected light, because I have lines on my windscreen they make it worse , so by getting a polariser it should help to reduce glare (I have on my mini 0806 and it worked well)

ah f, my dashcam voice is turned off, and I have a feeling my car has had somebody's door into mine, as it was activated on the G-Sensor when parked, you can see the guy shut his boot, then rush to the drivers door...

ill check for marks on my car, but I wont be able to prove who it was (I have their reg plate as I have motion detection)

I didn't turn the microphone off , no idea why it turned off on its own ? :(
