Dashcams!

anyone tried a 128Gb memory card in a Thinkware yet ?
I could do with a 3rd memory card

Zoomee, how did you get on with that Polariser ?

Tried a few memory cards (think I am on my 6th) in my 750 and I have given up. I can't get a single one to work properly, yet they are the correct type of card. When I contacted Thinkware they said I had to use an official card, definately one of the negatives for the camera.

Think I'm going to have to get a dash cam for certain now. With a write off a month ago and today someone turning right in front of me on a 60mph road and so close to a smash, then just driving off like nothing happened, I'd be screwed if I had ended up in the ditch from swerving.

There's a few people out there that claim they've got the 128Gb cards to work but in reality the SD card is formatted for a maximum of 64Gb so it's actually a waste.

Sorry chaps, 3 deaths in the space of four days and my head is all over the place! - not had chance to get the footage (I'm also waiting on a USB3 card reader - these darn Sd cards are slow as hell on USB2).

Grudas are those your videos? That's absolutely shocking driving. How much of a hurry does someone need to be in?

I still need to get mine fitted to the S-MAX. Trying to hide it out of my view with the mirror and the sensor housing but not easy given the wiper-sweep. Project for this weekend I think!

yeah, seems to be a london thing! I'd say "hey the traffic is frustrating" but all of those are at night or late evening and the traffic is minimal as you can see.

I honestly just shake my head and carry on. Happens all the time :o

My mini 0801 has started to show signs of dying so I'm looking for a replacement.

What seems to be a good choice at the moment? I tried a £50 Novatek based one from amazon but the LCD screen flickers like mad and the recordings pick up some really bad interference.

Finally fitted the dashcam:

oops
managed to get my memory card stuck inside my F770 :/

the slot is in such a silly place (at the top right where the windscreen is) so hard to get them in and out so I must have pushed it in the wrong place, cant get it out now :(

Yes I agree the slot is in a silly place, I'm yet to put mine back in so I'll be sure to be extra careful when I do now.

Probably going to look into getting the polariser Zoomee's got and moving the camera a bit at some point (as well as having the passenger A pillar in shot I've also put it out of range of the wipers!).

I phoned thinkware, and they wont do anything under warranty :(

they have 1 tech guy that is happy to look at it, but if he damages it, its my fault not there's, i.e. they won't replace it

Hmm. I have a Nextbase 101 and for ease of use I've bought a lead that allows me to use the USB port inside my glove box for power. This now means that the camera detects the USB connection and goes into 'mass storage mode' thinking I have it connected to a computer and I need to cancel this every time otherwise it sits in this mode and doesn't record. :(

The 12V power location is in between the seats and I looked at some sticky pads to hold the 12V adaptor lead in place but they won't stick to the centre console because it's textured. Any solutions? Anyone used a dashcam in a mk.3 Ford Focus?
