Dashcams!

Hmm. I have a Nextbase 101 and for ease of use I've bought a lead that allows me to use the USB port inside my glove box for power. This now means that the camera detects the USB connection and goes into 'mass storage mode' thinking I have it connected to a computer and I need to cancel this every time otherwise it sits in this mode and doesn't record. :(

The 12V power location is in between the seats and I looked at some sticky pads to hold the 12V adaptor lead in place but they won't stick to the centre console because it's textured. Any solutions? Anyone used a dashcam in a mk.3 Ford Focus?
Am lookihg at ordering one for my mk 3.5 focus ST sometime with in the next few weeks..

But am hoping to hard wire it into the fuse box or something and am going need a ignition on only and a permanent live feed..

oops
managed to get my memory card stuck inside my F770 :/

the slot is in such a silly place (at the top right where the windscreen is) so hard to get them in and out so I must have pushed it in the wrong place, cant get it out now :(

Dab a bit of super glue onto a cocktail stick and press it onto the edge of the micro SD card for a minute or so, let it dry for a further 10 and try pulling. You might need several sticks.

one day I need my dashcam is getting repaired

luckily no accidents

but seen some really poor driving today, all by white vans and speeding (60 in a 40 etc) stupid over takes, etc etc etc

I don't know what's up with people today, is it national crap driving day ?

Bought a blackvue dr650gw 1ch and wanted to check something with other blackvue owners.

I turn the wifi off, but it keeps putting itself back on!! Really annoying. Is this normal behaviour? When I turn it off, it is off for a while, possibly until the parking mode on the PMP hits the time limit, then I think when the camera restarts it puts wifi back on

Not sure exactly if that's when it comes back on or not, but I'm guessing that's what it is

Is this normal for blackvues?

Yes , you can turn the auto wifi on within the blackvue app on your phone or your computer.

Cool will take a look, as I'd only want it on when I say so.

Last time I checked wifi settings I only saw SSID and password options. Maybe the setting you're referring to is under a different category.

Cheap dam cam with motion detection or 24/7

Anyone have a idea of what dash cam to get for cheap, mainly under £30 preferred, dont mind used.

Or an 24/7 as someone keeps scratching my car, i have a idea who it is but cannot prove it atm.

hmm, I cant think of any under that price, you need to find one that can be hard wired in to give you "parking mode"

EDIT//

Maybe a nextbase 212
but £60 not £30

So someone is scratching your car, you're bothered enough to invest in a dashcam but don't want to spend more than £30? You'll likely need to spend a little bit more...

You can use one of Anker high capacity battery packs if you don't want to hardwire or drain your car battery. This should give you more than 8 hours

Morning all, I've been asked to purchased a dashcam for the father in law, budget £50?

Any recommendations as that price point

Thanks

Make sure you get the SpyTec, they are the only genuine Viofo reseller of this particular camera, a lot of other makes used cheap clone designs.

The camera itself is very discrete and attaches very securely to the windscreen, and the video footage is more than adequate.
