Daughter wants to play the witcher.

Amen to that.

So the solution to mental health problems in the young is to limit what they are exposed to.

Who woulda thought!?

Restrict your child's WAN connection.
i dont disagree with that........... but I dont believe what you think is going to cause mental health problems is the same as what i think will...... BTW this is not because i am some "let kids watch anything" kind of person either... I actually mentioned a kids tv program in this thread and suggested parts of it seemed unnessesarily sexualised / suggestive to me, one that all the kids are watching at school. I stand by that but i am in the minority it seems with 1 ***** indirectly calling me a paedophille for suggesting it.

I also stand by what i said, imo The Witcher is ok for a 14-15 year old, and as a yard stick if they watch Game of Thrones then there is not much difference but if GOT is too much then Witcher may be as well. but that does not mean i would let an 8 year old play it.

Just let them play the game.

If you feel you need to educate them then give them the talk before you do and include a section about violence and video games vs reality if you must.

I've cleaned this up. You lot need to have a serious word with yourselves before taking it down that route again. Full of a cold today, cba, hammer at the ready - a week minimum.

For me the bigger thing thats worth noting rather than the violence swearies or boobies is things like the barons story line.
Adult themes that may require talking about. The story line discusses violent domestic abuse, and miscarriage. I don't think its enough to make it a no go for all younger players. But definitely requires parental guidance.

I love metal, but not death metal, if shes already into that, then i see why not
how old is she anyway ?

I listen all different types of metal, but some of it can be a little to much. To be honest, when I said devil worshiping metal I was playing on the stereo type. Lol. I can’t get on with black metal, some death metal is to much also.
She’s a mature 12 year old. Her taste in music is very varied, I asked her what she had been listening to on Spotify recent her response was
“bring me the horizon and black pink”.
What are two very different bands.
