Dawn of War II Beta Thread

Working perfectly here on a 8800GT 1440x900 an everything maxed :) Really impressed with it so far though the Ork HQ voice is a little annoying. So glad they did not mess it up, DoW is one of my favorite games ever :D

I only had a quick look this morning but didnt notice the graphics settings, where are they or is it obvious?

Only downloaded last night and just started it to see if it worked ok

On the main menu screen > options > display

Might have to reinstall Vista tonight and see if I get a better framerate on there, otherwise it's a new card for me.

Had a few skirmishes against the CPU and I'm liking it so far, gonna read some reviews but I think it's a pre-order for me.

But I seem to be in the minority of people who prefered DoW SP over MP. Because I suck at RTS MP games :p

If you have the option maybe try and pick up another gt, in sli they are known for great performance

Running at 1600x1200 with every graphics option maxed out except shadows (medium); depending on how many units on screen, getting from 25 to 40 FPS with my rig, on XP 32 bit. Mainly running at around 30 FPS.

Hmm... maybe its the CPU holding me back. Everyone seems to have a Q6600 these days.

Will try dropping Post Effects and Shadows later and see what frames I get.

You need a Windows Live account to play? Seriously, how cheap.

Thanks very much relic, but i dont think i'll bother paying £40 for your game. Cheers all the same.

Lol wtf  Isn't GFWL a good thing? I mean if all games start to use the same account then we won't have to register and remember different accounts all the time.

i've just downloaded GFWL clicked on the DOW 2 banner, then it said error :p I think it may be overloaded ??

Or am i looking in the wrong place?

Not convinced as yet, myself, it feels insubstantial and lightweight compared to its predecessors. I reckon if I'd played COH and DOW2 for the first time today, I'd think DOW2 was a few years old and COH is the new kid.
