I've tried to persevere with this game hoping to get into it but I just can't seem to.
It's too different and too similar to CoH.

Playing it makes me want to play DoW again, so I'm really tempted to install DoW just for some fun online games :)

My housemate owns Soulstorm so hes been playing it since last Thursday. I played a bit of DOW1 years ago but could never get in to it, however several RTS games later I feel I owe it to myself to give this one a crack.

Want to give Eldar a go as they came off fairly decent in the intro movie :p. Got a feeling the majority of people will be playing as Space Marines too.
 
Anybody playing this with a 8800GT? Can only get above 30FPS when everything is on low, just wondering if this is just a performance issue with Windows 7 or if I should expect the same performance under XP/Vista?

Just started the download, will let you know.

Should be good, as COH plays really well on my rig, using XP.
 
I didn't have any expectations when I first played (hadnt read any previews), but from what I've played so far it feels like COH meets DOW - which is awesome imo :cool:

I am going into the game the same. I downloaded it last night but never got a chance to play on it. Can you change all the settings graphically in the beta?

Runs fine on my AMD x2 5000+ and ATi 1950 Pro. No idea what fps I'm getting but it's smooth.
 
My FPS seems to be around 20 when I'm running it on high, and it feels smooth, but as soon as there's a lot of action it can drop to 10-15 and then it becomes hard to play. I could play CoH pretty much maxed out as well. :(

Edit: Played around some more with the settings, was getting such a low FPS because I play with the camera as far back as it goes. So I've got it on medium at the moment, hovering around 30. Might be time for an upgrade though. :)

Performance is great for me on my 9800GTX at 1920x1200

Been playing online this morning and I'm really liking it, the only gripe I have so far is people having settings too high causing the game to lag, that was very frustrating :(

I would say graphics performance is good. Unfortunately my system has always had a bug whereby it doesnt report its graphics memory properly, so I had to configure the .lua file myself and dont run major high settings. But with a 4870 I can see you running this pretty highly if not maxed out.

Network performance and stability on the other hand.. people out there must be still be using 56K.. I swear.
