Dayz Breaking Point (Arma 3 mod)

I play on most as the game varies a lot depending on the map.

Stratis and Thirsk are small and essentially when busy are a death match. Spawn, grab a gun if you can, run to busy spots and kill or be killed.

Altis is massive, you can play for hours without seeing anyone unless you go to a couple of hotspots. Good for a more laid back evening, stashing away loot or fixing up a vehicle. I find it too boring.

Esseker and New Haven are middle sized and are a good balance of action vs not getting shot immediately by campers at high tier loot spots or spawn points.

The smaller maps are sometimes hard to get started on as you get killed before getting a half decent gun quite a lot so I'll often go on an almost empty server, get some it and then join a busier one later. I enjoy the looting more than combat when playing solo as playing solo can be frustrating, I get one shotted by a camper after ages getting geared up and have to do it all over again.

So when playing hunter i DO KOS as per the "hunter" Roll

This lead to the video below happening and made me think. Guys when you are healing in a building you really should be careful because this may happen also talking on direct really didn't help the cause.

Had a good 3 hour stint yesterday with some randoms on NewHaven, finding some great people to play with lately. At the point now where i'm always rolling with 4+ people.

Doesn't matter what map I try, i'm always coming back to NewHaven, it's just so well balanced. I do like Esseker but without a vehicle it's massively frustrating meeting up with people.

Can someone put me straight on this!

Due to a Pc that is over a decade old im still just watching a few gmaes like this one in twitch till I get a new rig. Anyway great steam lot of action and the guy streaming goes mental and rightly so. He takes on two well equipped guys, nails one and goes to nail the other and some add pops up for DLC! I mean it appeared as he took aim he could not see his sight. He had the drop and lost.

Surly someone at Arma/Bis was not so incredibly thick to do that? I mean you’d have to be a complete knob to fire up an advert for DLC while playing in action.

Was it an advert or a black box with some code on it?

Currently there is a bug whereby anyone lays down a bear trap on the map, you get some random code pop up on everyone's screen on the map.

I have never in my 600+ hours of A3 had any adverts for DLC pop up, I don't own any either.

This does not happen on BP at all but on some games like wastelands it does happen to me if you pick up an item that is from a dlc it covers your screen in ****

This would be best remedied by not letting me in the server in the first place :D

After spending many hours in first person mode, I'm a huge first person fan in BP. It just feels so right, it's so in your face and more immersive. I'm actually a better player in FP too and love walking through a town not knowing who's around the next corner with your gun out :D

gutted i couldn't get into this.... I just didn't get what it was trying to do. I ran for hours and hours on maps i dont know, found a few cities and died.

Back to overpoch for me :D

There is a lot of running. Yesterday evening, I spawned on one side of Thirsk, worked all the way round the map getting gear, made it to the big military base and was killed by a set of stairs. Great. It's frustrating when you have limited gaming time.

On the other hand when you've got a good few hours to kill and you're grouped up with a few others it's great. You're far less likely to get killed out of the blue as you've got more pairs of eyes. Especially if you have someone up on a hillside watching over the areas you loot.

Come join us in a group on a friday/saturday evening and we'll get you schooled. It's so much better than over/epoch type mods, actually feels like survival, not just gathering tonnes of weapons/materials in bases.

I'd happily play on the mercenary servers but the pop counts are way too low except in peak times. Wish they'd force 1st person on in all of them like they did for the day a few weeks back.
