Group play is pretty much the best way to enjoy it.

Running around solo can be frustrating & lonely, making you very vulnerable.
Finding a group to run around with will make a world of difference and it happened to several of our players too. They hated the game and thought it was ****, but after grouping up, their whole idea of the game changed and they love it.
 
set graphics right many new players dont and results in bad performance.

arma also is very cpu hungry. so really you need a high clocked quad to get best out of it (preferably intel)

turn all blur off make sure res is right. post process off, shadow off /or on upto you. make sure clouds are off in rendering.

I've got more than enough juice to run this game, but I'll have a play round - thanks!
 
I have question, i understand that this game now has 2 hives, one for regular and one for hardcore servers.

Does this mean if i play on both ill have 2 different chars? Can someone confirm this as i dont want to go ahead and try it only for me to lose my regular char if i try hardcore as my regular char has a few items.

Kwango it is a fun game but like you said your still a noob. Look one day we arrange a meet in DayZ and ill help you out. I can protect you till you get good loot ive got a mosin with a long range scope and a revolver and **** tons of ammo :D

That's awesome ! I hope that eventually the environmental hazard (ie zombies, starvation) will become strong enough to force more player co-operation (like left 4 dead). Not that I want everyone to be friendly but a variety allows for far more interesting situations to emerge.
That said, I often don't really meet anyone & just enjoy wandering round the landscape on my own.
 
Enjoyed a game last night.

Myself and a mate bumped into a fully tooled up guy. He killed me, I re-spawned near him. Then he started shooting at us until we told him we are friendly and n00b, didn't seem to believe us at first but ended up being a legend and helping us out for an hour!

Hi all,

occasionally the game crashes and I get Windows message saying I am out of memory or it is low. Does anyone know why this is? I run any other game completely maxed out and perfectly.
 
I seem to be getting lag spikes (and the little red lag icon) for about 3 or 4 minutes each time I join a new server. This is obviously quite annoying because it makes me an easy target if I spawn beside someone. Does anyone know a fix for this or have similar issues?
