***Dayz: Stand Alone Thread***

So far...

  • Players are friendly and working together, like they very early days of DayZ. I'm sure this will change soon.
  • There's barely any loot spawns and what loot spawns are there, are about 1m up in the air, obviously still work in progress. After an hour I managed to find a wrench, a bat, and a t-shirt. No food, no firearms.
  • Melee weapons are crap against zombies, but we already saw this in the streams.

Players with any weapons seem to be shooting on sight, others are running around throwing punches now, not much has changed on the three servers I've been on

Lol. Please, just don't!

Watching a stream of this, seems like all the old bugs from the mod are still in there. Zombies warping through walls, 1 hit kills, the dreaded red chain...might hold off but so tempted to get it as people are actually going to play this without shooting on site. Already seen someone hold up and rob another guy!

It is an Alpha but yes, a lot of the same still exist. Thanks for your £20 DAYZ lovers, have a game that looks like we have done nothing to it

Apparently there are 19,000 new people bought this. That's nearly £400k in one night (if numbers are correct). Crazy

Game runs like arse in Cherno though, 25fps and less :(
 
Have they introduced any new systems when it comes to killing people? Reputation or something similar.

Is anything kept persistent when you die or is it a completely fresh start?

Not been keeping up with standalone news at all.
 
resisting the urge to tweak gamma up, did my usual stunt and avoid any of the big cities completely, head to the hills and do some scavenging :)

Nice touch that the splash screen shows your updated char, gear etc
