Lol at £20 being too much...are you having a laugh?

I bet people will put over 20 hours into this in the first 3 days... that's £1 an hour...tell me something else you can buy for £1 an hour as enjoyable and I will agree to disagree.

£60 for supporters edition however... hell no. A pdf high res map that will be downloadable by everyone come tommorow.. lol!
 
To add, it is worth £20 to me just to install and play. No having to do the following.

Install Arma 2. Run arma 2 once. Patch arma 2. Run the patch.

Install OA, run OA once, patch OA,

Verify install for Arma2 as it never installs properly
Verify install for OA is at never installs properly either
Install Dayz Commander
Download Dayz,
Reboot PC
Use Nvidia CP to turn off bloom (if you are lucky and can remember the right setting) so you don't get white trees.
Turn off SLI as it doesn't work with it.
Play.
Buy new SSD because that combo took up 40GB.

I thought the exact same. Loading into our epoch server takes me close to 3minutes, whereas about 20 seconds and I'm running around on SA.

Very pleased with this so far, I was one of the skeptics thinking nothing could beat epoch, but myself and Neil had a great blast on TS. So refreshing having people running around with crowbars and hatchets.

Are you running a firewall? I had to add an exception for dayz.exe to Comodo then refresh the list.
 
Dlknight didn't know who I was and I ran in front of him while he axed me! So when I got up from being healed I had the pleasure of punching him in the face :D

We did end up finding someone to kill but he combat logged :/
 
Who here has a TS for Dayz?

I been playing it, felt a little boring but I am in it for the long term investment :)
 
the game is worth £20 easy, it looks so beautiful on max settings and to be able to just jump in and play instead of doing all that nonsense with arma is great. Heavily populated already

Use nvidia inspector and apply the arma 3 profile to dayz, instant sli
 
Played this for a while, can't say I've seen a single zombie or piece of loot yet, I've been to loads of towns and nothing, just players with flashlights who are saying the same. :/
 
Early days for the Alpha. Played last night and found quite a few new items - defib, face mask, wooden stick etc. Then a logged out and character reset when I logged in again. Unconscious bug still needs fixing or some indication of how long people are out for. There was a lack of zombies and loot. However many of these would have been difficult to pick up without mass player testing as they are likely affected by server load.
 
What is the deal with drinking? I drank a can of Soda and literally 25 meters walking up the road it comes up with "I feel thirsty".

I have some beans I cannot eat as I need a "tin opener" which I cannot find.

I found a lootable military barracks about 1km from the Komarov spawn in some woods, but other than a clip of ammo, no loot.

The zombies are wierd, i hit one with the spade and it just vanished?

Deffo an Alpha! I wonder what combat will be like!
