***Dayz: Stand Alone Thread***

Feel so tired today...stayed up till 2am playing this and had to be at work at 6am...ouch!!!!

Performance wise it was spot on for me, no issues at all.

Loot and zombies where very rare but I kinda expected that with it been the first night of launch.

Was refreshing to actually see people running around with flash lights, kinda took me back to the old dayz which was nice! Hope they fix the gamma trick as this kinda spoils it for me a tad!

Overall very good and well worth £20!
 
Had my first 30mins before work. Found lots of stuff in elecktro, pistol/holster/axe/blades/bats and lots of clothes. Looks really nice and more like an actual game now! Performance is good on an old ati 6950.
 
The Developer is saying and I quote

People would still buy into early even if they put truthful warnings up. i.e. We just want your money for something that might not even be released. They even point out that you must be mad to want to buy it.

Hahaha - you forget young jedi I KNOW WHERE YOU LOGGED OUT ;)

I was in the hospital in Elektro and could hear some mic static getting louder and footsteps and suddenly this weirdo appeared with a zombie chasing him.

Killed the zombie but you got in the way hence me "accidentally" axing you.

Luckily that friendly American had some bandages :D

Will be on tonight and hopefully on a server where I can actually see what is going on! (I don't like messing with gamma because I forget to turn it back down when playing in daylight).

Perhaps we can go around like the first Dayz in a big group of 15-20 :D

And to all the moaners and whingers - I'd pay £20 just for these improvements -

  1. Instant server join - no more waiting 5 minutes
  2. Much better inventory system
  3. Pockets!!! how useful are they!
  4. Graphical tweaks
  5. More authentic experience (all servers the same and no silly 300 vehicle, weapons everywhere servers)
  6. More enterable buildings
  7. Single installation
  8. Improved game mechanics (e.g. torch needs batteries, need tin opener to open tin of beans)

Just to add if anyone is using AMD CROSSFIRE do the following -

  1. Launch Catalyst Control Center
  2. Select Gaming, 3D Application Settings
  3. Click Add and Browse to the DayZ.exe executable
  4. Scroll down to AMD CrossFireX Mode and select "Use AMD pre-defined profile"
  5. Search for "arma" and it should find Arma2OA_Demo
  6. Sit back and enjoy!
