***Dayz: Stand Alone Thread***

Anyone know how the blood transfusions work? I tried it with team mates - i.e. blood transfusion kit, then kit+iv bag - and I passed out. Where the ****ing instructions arrrrrrrrrggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

You need to have a blood kit to take blood from someone, then craft it with the IV bag, which will create a usable blood transfusion bag then get someone to give it to you.. You need to really check your blood type first, which can be done with the blood type checker.
 
Just got wiped out before I even spawned in. For those that play BF4 it was like having the black screen on spawn. Heard the gunshots and I was dead!

Probably karma for being in the 2% of characters that survived the DB wipe.
 
Was just in Balota, guy ran upto me in barracks with an M4 pointed at me so I shot him, he didn't have any ammo, I felt a bit guilty.

Then got killed just now whilst looting the ATC!

I haven't gotten further than Zele yet, everytime I do I die from thirst or get shot or the server crashes!
 
Well I finally got to play Dayz impressed so far, Found 3 guys killed 1 of them the one was friendly so I left him to loot... I have no idea where im going or what im doing...Good times
 
Unbiased view from a Bambi...

Never playing the mod waited a long time finally got it tonight... Performance was shocking at first but sorted that now...Cheers to the lads off her for the help. Got it a lot nicer towards end of night...
Absolutely brilliant game even in its current state. Love the atmosphere the scale. Controls will grow on me, lot to take in at first. Love not knowing where the hell I am and where to go what to do..

Came across 3 other players, first guy was friendly. he backed off ran away I watched him run into some other player who wasn't so friendly... So I sneaked up on the unfreindly guy and killed him. Didnt spot he had a mate who tried to be a hero, he must have been knew like me as we danced around for 30 seconds trying to stab each other finally he just fell to the ground... "Victory for the friendly guy".

Ended up with some cammo bottoms cammo hat, fully orange rain coat, gas mask, 2x m4's 1x mosin 1x clip for mosin, 1x fireaxe. 1x body vest. A drinks bottle. Lots of good food. Large rucksack. Pistol holder...

Cheers to the two lads off here for the help tonight...

Pretty Geared up for a bambi...

I had a stroll from balota to cherno to elektro where I logged off, sound muted, Boards of Canada MHTRTC in the background, 3am, lights off. Bliss!

Went into the town in between Balota and Cherno I think... it dosent have a name, but loads of big flats. Anyway looting the supermarkets and I hear gunfire... I sneak around and I see someone running out of the flats toward someone else. I assume they are friends as it looks like they are doing inventory checks.... so just to be sure I put 2 rounds into each of them :D

I go over, JACKPOT... so much loot, as im collecting it...crack, im dead :D

Lethal that town.
 
I managed to get all the way to NW airfield last night and got fully kitted out. M4A1, Pistol, Medi Kit, Drinks, food, army backpack etc. I felt like a god in Dayz :D

It was 1am so I decided to hit the sack and looked forward to making my way down south today and cause some havoc..........DB wipe......ARRGGGGGGGGGG :confused::confused::confused:

Oh well same drill again tonight then :D
 
I've bumped into three people up north tonight and all three combat logged also I hope its a bug but the m4a1 seems very inaccurate to me its like spray and pray fire with single shots.

Yeah happy dayz, not knowing where to go and what to do was amazing, I remember looking down at a village with all its zombies and thinking "F*&K THAT" and headed straight back into the woods :D

Now I tend to just run around like a mad man without a care in the world ;)
 
So post wipe I spawned at Kamenka. Hit the barracks to its North and in Zelen. Many M4s, but not a single 5.56mm round! I have a Mosin with a bayonet and a damaged scope instead though...

Also found a pistol and lots of ACP rounds, although apparently they don't load. What ammo does the pistol take?

Not managed to find some can openers yet either! Luckily I have some cereal and rice.

I think you can use the bayonet to open cans now? Or maybe not? Perhaps you can try and confirm for me :D
 
boooo to people combat logging, such a cheap escape. just die like everyone else and get over it xD people become too attached to their characters n **** in this game xD

That's why I'd always just run around with a ghillie suit and a hatchet, pretty easy to come across and replace :D screw guns... I'm looking to survive....and maybe hatchet an unsuspecting victim or two :D probably going to do the same in this...maybe just fightyMcPunchy it up....or throw a screwdriver into the mix for some shankin' ;)

You can but it breaks the bayonet.

I am in need of a friend...got about half my blood left as everytime I ax a zombie a question it makes me bleed before it dies, the only way to blood bag yourself is to drain someone of the same type as you (and I don't know my characters type) into a bloodbag and transfuse it.
