***Dayz: Stand Alone Thread***

The zombie animations in standalone are all motion captured, completely different to the mod.

BF4 is made for consoles though.

I am running every setting maxed out and get 40fps all the time but it feels like 60fps, I don't see any stutter or lag at all. Remember this engine is primarily based around cpu and memory performance, maybe you need to tweak your bios?

I refuse to accept it's my BIOS that needs tweaking seeing as every other game runs perfectly.

And yet they still look terrible

We get it, you don't like, congratulations.

That probably puts you in the minority though.

I think the zombie animations look good, far superior to any of the mods.

And as for your previous comments about taking two years to do less: lol. This is far better than the mod and is still at a very early stage of its player testing cycle.

Try adding some startup parameters to the game properties in steam - google them if you need to; specifically the CPU thread and memory count parameters.

Omg i take it all back what amazing features lol

The fact these were the best new things you could think of says it all.

Also you do know it's ok for someone to dislike something that you like and vice versa, I know video game forum dwellers tend to struggle with this concept though.

It is an alpha and you go into the "whinger" category I am afraid.

Your idea of terrible is very different to most people then.

The zombie animations are very good from what I have seen so far, I cant wait for the number of zombies to increase so I can be chased by a angry horde :D

I honestly think that servers might get released quicker than people think. Just a hunch but it seems to be taking off at a rate similar to the original mod and I think that once they establish that the hive can take it I think they will roll something out via a white list like last time.

I believe this is going to be increased.

at moment the main aim is performance ans stability so number that is best for servers is 40-50. once more stable youll get 60 plus as norm. as said there are servers over 100 plus and its a couple of dayz old :)

word was not in alpha :( hope it is quicker as the current prices for renting a server is a joke ! i am after renting my own with ourlot so hopefully it hapens sooner than later

With current hosters like Vilayer are server admins able to change the time of day?

I managed to get on a LA server last night so it was actually nice to see the game in daylight but it was a struggle to get on.

I think that (the price) along with them needing an increase in available capacity is what will be the driving force behind it. I think Rocket is wise enough to know that as time goes on it will become a more pressing issue that needs addressing or people will start to desert it if they cant have a "home" server. He's talked about support for private hive and I think that maybe something that will take time but I think white listed access to the main hive is something that will come sooner rather than later.

Its a matter of keeping the pressure up on him ;)
