Just bought this, fun game. I am spending a lot of time looking at the 'You are dead' screen
Just exploring the map and looking for gear is awesome. I have no idea where anything or anybody is.
Met my first players, asked for a can opener and got punched to death by him and his friend.

I keep downloading this game every year playing it for few hours then uninstalling it, are their any servers where you don't get hungry so quickly and where loot is not so scarce? I don't want to play survival game I want to play shooter game with survival elements like the original dayz, I'm not interested in building in a base or fighting off the cold weather.

Can anyone recommend any modded servers where loot is a bit less sparse? But not like there's loot everywhere. Oh and good solo servers too.

Dean Hall? I thought he left DAYZ in 2014 to pursue other things.
IMO in the last year the game has become very playable and fun. Plus Namalsk...
But it's still, STILL in beta. Honestly I think the devs have more or less given up on it with token updates every few months.

same for most early access games even when they claim 1.0 or whatever..... still mostly hollow games.

SO I've been playing again for the first time in years. The vanilla game is just annoying. Starve to death by zombie because the combat is stupid. Modded servers though..aaaaaahhhh. It's how the game should be.
This server is trying to get players, it's for people who like loot, lots of zombies and no KOS! Roleplay and base building.
Give it a go if you don't like vanilla. As it's quite quiet atm it's good to get back into if you've not played in a while....with wolves and bears...

YouTube has been suggesting me DayZ content and I've quite enjoyed it. It obviously works better if you can play socially but it makes me a little nostalgic with customer servers, mods and active communities self policing.
But at nearly £40 with the DLC it's just not cheap enough for me.

Base game has increased in price, it was £20 when I bought it. Livonia DLC isn't a must have item though. Chenarus, Namalsk and Esseker are free maps I believe.

So - looking for a decent modded server to play on as my interest has piqued after watching Frankie and Sada's recent YT videos
Don't want to download 200+ mods, just a lightly modded server with decent item spawns and not like the vanilla where you can't find any food and die.
