Dayz Standalone - BETA

I haven't even started base building yet but It's something I'll have to learn asap!

To opt it, just "opt out" of everything on Steam show it just shows "DayZ" in the list. No experimental, testing etc.

Also the game now has the Workshop. So players can create mods, I just downloaded a "tuned wheels" mod for the car.

Please tell me the workshop mods don’t work on official servers? That would run and unbalance the game even more.
 
Not too sure how they work tbh. I only ever join official.

Edit: Got this response on Steam.

@harry5522 Same way they work on arma. You and the server need to both have the mod in order to complete the connection. Otherwise you will get kicked

Downloaded this again recently, thoroughly enjoying it. From my last experience the zeds were impossible to kill and always always broke your leg when they attacked you. First aid was an absolute PITA because you needed crap like blood bags and all that rubbish. Zombies have been made much more aggressive, but much easier to kill too, and first aid is much easier, this game is certainly catering to the filthy casuals nowadays, probably because of the Xbox plebs. Anyway. Great fun again, we also have a server so if anyone wants a go just drop me a line and I'll hook you up baby.
 
Picking this back up recently having slept on it for a while as I feel it's finally getting somewhere with versions 1.09/1.10.
Have done about 50+ hours in the last few weeks, anyone here still playing?
 
Been a while since I played on PC. Will have to get back into it, my favourite memory stems from Arma 2 Dayz mod, pitch black with only a torch as I ran down the streets. THAT was scary! Especially at 1am lol.
 
Same, i sank soo much time into the mod back in the day, even if my steam only shows a few hours for some reason! Think it's something to do with the mod or something
My computer is ageing a little now so looking to get a new build sorted to make it run a little better.
Still haven't found any game that I can sink as much time into.
 
Trying to get back into DayZ again and although it looks nice I can't find a decent server that doesn't have base building! Why is it so difficult just to find one with extra loot :(

TheRunningManz, karmakrew, dayone, dayzone have a few decent ones, use the DZSALauncher makes things a little easier to subscribe to any needed mods and what not.
I don't think any of the above have anything to do with bases, but some do use mods!
