I'm glad the dev attention was re-directed to ARMA 3.
DayZs time has well and truly gone.

Theres still a market for it if they actually put some effort into it.
I fire it up every now and again and whats there is sort of good. I mean sort of because it still isnt a playable game, its a collection of assets and ideas that dont really work together, mixed with some bugs. The idea they had was good.
If this had released as a finished product, or only been early access for 2 years instead of constant broken promises it would have a huge player base. Its basically still a playable concept demo atm.
It will be the game my kids are into. I havent had any yet, so I reckon in about 20 years they might be playing the beta looking forward to release, and it *might* be alright
Any VACs before or just when you got booted from DayZ?
When I first started playing the RP aspect was brilliant, players would take others captive and try to concur cities with big groups but it turned quickly into killing on site due to the lack of resources and food.
This is actually a very good point. The hype was very very high when it went alpha years ago but they'e rreally missed their opportunity. It seems to be struggling along when what should have happened was more investment to get it out the door while it still had a good rep, not the disastrous one it has now. It could end up being the best game in the world but I still think it will sell badly.I dont hold any grudges to DayZ even though it never lived up to my hopes, I still put in a fair shift with friends and had some of the best gaming moments ive had.
Id love it to come back to prominence, but I fear that ship has sailed... I know I couldnt get my group back playing, so those days are long gone. Still would be nice to see and play the final product one day, as a game we all hoped it would be.
