DCS: A-10C Warthog (first screens!)

As much as like the idea, anyone else think its a bit steep in price when it seems to be just ported into the dcs engine without any period aircraft or tanks shoot?

I agree. As much as I love the Pony, $40 is a bit steep for what is provided. I'll wait for a sale or the bargain bin - whichever hits first.

I do like what I see though. I am interested in how it sounds. Is the whistle modelled?

+1

what air-power do the enemy use against you in this addon ?

Unknown ... and that is worrying

Bargain bin fodder .... I think I will wait until then

Until then......

The Su-25T Russian attack aircraft from FC2 is free as part of the DCS download with P-51 - Download it, it's free.

DCS World is a single, unified core for all DCS products to operating within. Rather than separate installations for each DCS products, the single DCS world interface allows the user to access all of their DCS products in a common user interface. DCS world also includes a DCS News service and will allow users to purchase DCS titles through the interface at a later point.

DCS World will be updated as DCS evolves with changes to the rendering system, AI units, AI logics, effects, etc. All aspect of the simulation, outside the flyable aircraft, add-on maps, and other paid-for content.

The current DCE World is still in beta and will evolve over time with new features.

The initial DCE World comes with a free flyable aircraft, the Su-25T (exported from Flaming Cliffs 2).

Yep the Whistle is modelled. A little known fact - the whistle is actually caused by airflow over the gun-ports at high angles of attack.

There is bound to be a user video of it by now - I'll have a look.

Nate

That's puiqed my interest a little more... :p

I love that sound.

I noticed an Bf109 in that video.. :D Is that an emil?

I wasn't saying the DCS world is WW2 , this aircraft (P51) is from that era is it not ?

So it would seem logical to have other aircraft from this era to be able to fly against ?

Clearly I must be mad to think that , when it did not occur to the folks at ED to do so

Maybe in time - but the Mustang itself was never sold as something other than a high fidelity modelling of the P-51. The intent was always made clear that DCS:-Mustang Module would focus on the aircraft itself. You knew this and yet you seem surprised. Nobody has tried to mislead anybody.

Now as to the future who knows - as I've alluded to above there are 3rd parties at work on WW2 stuff - as to the extent of that I've no idea.

sorry - as big a DCS fan as I am - I really don't get this addon

a few WWII tanks and a few enemy aircraft perhaps - but no enemy aircraft seems bizarre

I can't envisage any real challenging missions - what are you going to fly against ?

Im looking forward to the new terrain engine a heck of a lot, the current givings are just terrible! I love A10 and used to fly it a lot, but i find the terrain visuals so much of a turn off for the immersion factor.

DCS: A-10C Warthog $39.99
"High Fidelity modelling" DCS: P-51D Mustang $39.99

No, you've lost a fair few initital customers on that price no doubt (the community I play with, nobody bought it), I paid that price for a fully fledged sim, I'm not doing that for what is essentially a model/addon to an existing product, you could've had a bundle for non existing customers and an upgrade for existing.

As I see it, you're(dcs) now milking it.
