Dead MSI GTX 570 RMA'd and reported working, not sure what to do next

hm..interesting thread really..
i have RM'd already 1 gfx (in my sig) and now appears that replacement started giving me same problems again sometimes (im sure its just matter of time when card become unusable)
So,i have question - i bought this card (Order Date: 2 Feb 2011) and basically i dont want this card for 3rd time (since im from ROI its to costly to send stuff to UK),what i should do?Any chance i can get refund or its to late for this? Can i ask other manufacturer card for same price?

Can understand what you mean expecially due to your location, too be honest the manufacturers warranty would only cover repairs or replacements in terms of refunds thats down to the retailer under your consumer rights would recommend you have a gander at www.whatconsumer.co.uk but could be problematic as most of the consumer information on that website mainly applys to UK.

Discussing ways to deliberately damage a product so as to get a replacement product through the RMA process.

I sincerely wish your future RMAs are rejected by OcUK (or other retailers/manufacturers) and you are charged the testing + shipping fee, because of intermittent faults / faults that are hard to reproduce. You obviously have never suffered from this have you?

Now whenever I RMA something to OcUK, I have to beg them to test it extensively. I have to write a long description of how to increase the probability of detecting the intermittent faults, and pray every day wishing that they can indeed find it faulty.

I still have a faulty Gigabyte motherboard bought from OcUK lying in the corner and I still dare not RMA it to OcUK, simply because I may get charged £30 each time they fail to detect the fault, while the mobo is not worthy of more than £80.

Hmm, you're probably on edge so I'll forgive you :) but I wasn't having a go at you. I was simply pointing out to Mario what the "dodgy" content was :)

Just as an update, sent the card back end of last week, had an automated email confirmed the card had been received on Friday. It's now Thursday and still waiting for a refund...

I can feel your frustration. Hopefully you will get the refund soon and the best of luck with what you decide to do next.
I'm fortunate with living quite near two rather large PC retailers / e-tailers. Even though I have bought without issue from OCUK I do like the ability to drive (20 mins) and deal with any issues or returns with the person over the counter. As both of those retailers will test the product / return with me being there I have always enjoyed a great relationship with them and the outcome has always been satisfactory.

Best of luck to you Musicboffin.

Ok, so my new card arrived today, purchased from a different retailer out of my own pocket, as I've not been refunded but have got fed up with waiting, and have installed it tonight. Just played an entire round of Battlefield without any issues. Installing a couple of other games on Steam and will test those out, but this means 2 out of 3 cards in this 8 week old PC have worked flawlessly. Fancy that...

It's looking like I'm going to have to come home tomorrow lunch time in order to ring up customer services and chase the refund, as my post in the customer service section has been ignored. Really really poor customer service.

If anyone from OCUK bothers to read these forums, respond to my customer service thread, email me or contact me some other way to avoid having a seriously irritated customer calling you up tomorrow. 5 mins of your efforts to just refund me or even just let me know what's happening makes everyone's life easier.
