Dead Rising 3 latest vid just got me very interested in the game.

Yay!

Managed to pick up a copy last night in Sainsburys - it seems to be out of stock everywhere else locally - obviously proving popular.

Watched some play throughs on Youtube and had to have it. Was initially concerned after reading / watching the DF review but, judging by the playthroughs it looks like a lot of the issues have been ironed out.

Didn't get chance to play it last night but will be having some fun tonight... will have to try and get the controller from my wife first...:D

So general consensus is that DR3 is a good game, or a very good game?

I'll probably pick this up next after I finish Ryse.

I finished it last night, but screwed up and got ending C. Thankfully the new ability to restart chapters means I can easily go back and rectify my mistake (which I figured out the moment I made it), so I will hopefully get the proper ending tonight. Absolutely love it, I think this is definitely the best Dead Rising so far, and possibly the best launch title I've played on any console, ever.

Looking to be a great game! How well does Kinect integrate with DR3, please guys?
It works okay, but it's not essential at all IMO. I turned off some of the Kinect features (such as luring zombies) as I often play when talking to my wife, and I was attracting zombies when I didn't mean to!

The Smartglass integration is more useful, when it works (it seems buggy at the moment). Getting access to weapons caches and extra missions is always a good thing.

Ah okay, so it will pick up everything you say and use it as a distraction? Smart glass sounds really good!

So there are multiple commands you can use in DR3?

I like the sound of distracting zombies through it lol... could come in quite handy for multiplayer!

Does anyone find the survivors dumb? I got collect one to take back to the safe house but he won't come in just scraps with any old zombie outside!! Despite me spamming the follow me!

I just sprint to the nearest safe house to turn them off. I don't like followers in DR games, they just get in the way, so I'm happy to drop them off as soon as I can.

Ohhhh I've just figured this! Noticed you can just run to the board and turn them off. Hahaha I've lost about 5 survivors thinking they need to actually be in the safe house. Whooops!

I've not got this game yet, but can you explain that process a bit more please? Doesn't sound familiar to the first 2 DR games, where you get the survivor and escort them back to the safe house and then they stay there. What's this all about "turning them off"?

If you dont turn them off they will follow you. In theory, give them a weapon and you have an AI partner.

I prefer to turn them off tbh....

There is a board when you can set whether you want followers to...well, follow you or not.

Like what others have said above, difference is you have multiple safe houses so you don't have to keep going back to the same ones

But yeah..I figured it the hard way as all you do is rescue a survivor, make our way to the safe house and go to the survivor bulletin board and turn him/them off.

Still a little way to go to complete the game for me, but I'm loving it.

You can level up insanely quick (already level 20) and only on chapter 3. The RollerDawg is good for levelling up.

Shame there is no guide, not that I want one, but I would like to know how far through the chapters I am.

Ahh right get ya, yeah I'll be turning that off straight away. Hated having the crappy AI characters in the RE games, I don't want them in here too.
