Dead Space 2 .

So what do people think of this in comparison to the first? I've just completed the original today and it was great fun, some annoying backtracking and over using the same areas at times but on the whole a great game that I should have played sooner, if the second one is as good I'll have to get it.

I prefer the second to the first purely because as you say there is less backtracking. All the levels looked the same on the first to me. Identical starting points.

The story in the first was better though.

I like the new additions of necros as well.

Not a lot in it but I prefer the 2nd, first one seemed tougher though.

Thanks, I'll probs order it. I'm about to start a second runthrough of the first game to get the guns levelled up, does it carry money etc over when I start again?

I dont think it carries over in DS1 but there is a glitch menthod to carry over with the suit IIRC. Can't be sure.

Thanks, it does on the same difficulty. Almost halfway through my second go now, just getting the weapons all upgraded, then onto DS2 when it arrives. :D

So is this game worth £30 or not? will it drop down in say a month or two?

No game is worth £30 :p Danny an I have proven that this game can be finished in a rental period so rent it it you're a tight git, like us :D

However, if you're bothered about getting 1000/1000 achievement points you'll probably have to buy it. Excellent game though.

I will look up the glitch later but I'm sure there is a way to go to the next difficulty and keep your gear/suit. I'm sure I read it a couple of years ago on xbox achievements.

Not unless you are going to be interested in the MP. I've played some good games in the last few months and this is up with the best of them.

IIRC you are not someone who cares much about multiplays for difficulty levels or achievements. So I would say it's not worth you buying it. My first run through looking everywhere and killing anything that moved took me 12 hours, my hard run through took me 8 and I wasn't rushing.

This game will be around £20 in a couple of weeks.

Well i finally started playing this properly after getting too involved in Mass Effect 2. On Zealot mode and so far its very good, however i rage quit last night after those peek a boo run right at you guys killed me for the 5th time in a row... the first two go down but for some reason the 3rd will take a pulse rifle to the legs for a good 2-3 seconds but still wont go down.

At this rate i dont think ill even attempt hardcore mode, i dont think i have the patience!

I loved killing them with a detonator. Watch the stupid things run right into them. failing that quick stasis blast and cut their legs off, or a shot from the seeker to the head :)

I want to play DS1 now again, can't find a decent cheap copy anywhere at the moment :(

Yeah there is only a couple of necros it doesn't kill in two shots. I loved it. I only ditched it for levels 13/14/15 where the force gun maxed out makes it an easy run to the end.

Sent my copy back and I'm already impatient for the DLC :(

Is the through the scope seeker damage higher than the non scoped damage? I only ask as I rarely use the scope and have maxed out the regular damage, but I'm wondering if its worth me upgrading the alt fire for extra damage?

I only ever scoped in once, for the achievement. Other than that I didn't bother, forgot about the extra damage though but with the advanced suit I had extra weapons damage anyway :)

haha yeah without a doubt, still deciding where I'm going to plan on saving. I reckon I can get right through to chapter 7 no bother. But if I got to 6 and died I'd probably cry and then snap my disc.
