***DEAL OF THE MILLENIUM - MSI GTX 470 Twin FrozR ONLY £143.99 Inc. VAT!!*****

Also got to say that Metro 2033 was unplayable on DX11 with my 5770, getting 60FPS with the 470 with advanced DoF disabled and with it enabled 30 FPS.

60 fps on metro? WOW, that is good, what res is that? i game at 1080p on a huge monitor so im hoping vsync wont impact the FPS too much

Sorted first question, Afterburner 2.0 doesnt seem to work with this card, took it back to 1.6.1 and can now adjust the voltage! stock seems to be about .967v

I downloaded the latest one from MSI site and the voltage tweak just wont unlock, no matter how many times I ticked it in the settings and restarted. Uninstalled it, restarted PC and installed the one from disc in the box, voltage slider now unlocked after ticking the iption in settings.

Im having same problem as you did barmyllama

i'll try installing from the disc and see if that works.

Installed the second one today, still on air atm as I forgot to order some barbs with the block but it gave me chance to test and see if the PSU could handle it.

Just ran heaven, this is at 700/1400/1674

I know I can push the cards to about 800/1600 but I dont wont to risk any thing until I get a new PSU, this should do me though.

The temps on the top card which is the MSI was max of 62 with fan at around 85%, the bottom asus which is WC had a max of 40.

FPS: 63.7
Scores: 1605
Min FPS: 25.9
Max FPS: 126.8

Settings
Render: direct3d11
Mode: 1920x1200 4xAA fullscreen
Shaders: high
Textures: high
Filter: trilinear
Anisotropy: 4x
Occlusion: enabled
Refraction: enabled
Volumetric: enabled
Replication: disabled
Tessellation: normal

:D

anyone know if overclocking the cards with msi's afterburner will invalidate warranty?

i just noticed msi only give a 2year warranty :(

Loop heaven a couple of times and you should see a gain on your minimum fps, 750mhz ono should be manageable on stock voltage on the majority of 470's.

is the twin frozr version likely to overclock a lot higher with no overvolt increase buddy?

what specs wud u take it too

Well crysis/crysis benchmark are also very good tests, never used kombustor myself but ive heard/read that FAH can be a pretty stressful app to run. Load temps are very impressive btw.

The fan never goes above 50% either so I can't hear much noise!

1920x1080 :) I was impressed at that too!

I prefer to use auto fan as well as it never rises much over 50%, on the reference cooled cards, anything above 60% is pretty loud, slight trade off on temps though at my current 800mhz clocks, 81-80c respectively.

@slim01, the twin frozr will run a bit cooler, but it will still probably need a voltage increase at 800mhz, some users claim they can manage theese clocks on stock voltage though.

I'm trying 1v at 800mhz, seems to be working but might need more testing to be sure. One thing I'm noticing is that when I put the GPU under heavy load, such as folding, a high pitch whine starts, anyone getting this?

cant wait to try overclock this beast. twin frozr it is, i like quiet beasts even though i game at 100db's on a KEF hi fi, lol

250 POSTS WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Fairly impressed so far, fan is a lot quieter at 70% than my GTX280.

One question I'm not able to unlink the Core and Shader in Afterburner anymore, are they hardlocked on the GTX470?

Also find the fan quieter on the 470's compared to my old 280 and gtx 275's in sli, my stock speed 275's also ran warmer than my current cards clocked at 800/1600.

I didnt buy the 480, as I really want the msi 6950 Twin FrozR II 2gb, But Im gonna hold off buying it for a few days, to see if Gibbo can work his magic (hint hint):D

I bought 2 of these and are running them in SLI. Because my bottom PCI Express slot wont take a 2 slot card my 2 cards are right next to each other, Consequently the top card's temperatures are 15 degrees higher than the bottom one.

I've upped the voltage to 0.987 and clocked just the core/shader clocks to 750/1500, playing BFBC2 temperatures for the top card were around 80 and the bottom 65, but after 10-15 minutes my PC locked up and I had to power it off holding the power button in.

Anyone else do any better with same SLI configuration?
