Decent game controller?

Latency with the 2.4Ghz dongle is very poor with the Cyclone 2 so if you care about performance then just use a cable. In my test with a 240fps camera the analog stick latency was 6 frames (25ms) with a cable and 10 frames (41.6ms) with the 2.4Ghz dongle. It's not the most accurate test as my monitor is only 144Hz but it gives you a general idea.
I haven't noticed 2.4Ghz being "poor". GDPL Polling Test gives the following:
(Both run 100 times and averaged out)

R Stick:
Polling Rate Max.: 1000 Hz
Polling Rate Avg.: 998.00 Hz
Stability: 99.8%

=== Refresh intervals ===
Minimal interval: 0.95 ms
Average interval: 1.00 ms
Maximum interval: 1.09 ms
Jitter: 0.02 ms

L Stick*:
Polling Rate Max.: 1000 Hz
Polling Rate Avg.: 996.02 Hz
Stability: 99.6%

=== Refresh intervals ===
Minimal interval: 0.86 ms
Average interval: 1.00 ms
Maximum interval: 1.16 ms
Jitter: 0.04 ms
(*I was a little slow pressing start, then moving the thumbstick on the second run)

I'm happy that the claimed speeds reflect almost exactly in the test.

Polling rate is how many samples it sends to the computer, latency is how long it takes to get there. They're not the same thing but both are important and they are related because a low polling rate can cause high latency. I'm not sure why the wireless analog stick latency is so bad but it's definitely there and felt noticeably sluggish in latency sensitive games. It has a measurable impact on performance too, on the gridshot ultimate task on Aimlabs I got a score of 53k wired and 38k with the 2.4Ghz dongle.

Any had any issues with the Cyclone 2 dock not letting windows load?

My brother tells me for whatever reason if the dock is plugged in, windows get stuck on the intial loading screen, the intial one with a window on it a spinning animation that depending on system you barely see. With the dock in on boot, it just sits doing nothing, unplug dock and it loads.

Dock works fine if you plug it in after boot, so the dock seems fine. It's an X99 system, which to be fair do have some usb quirks at times, so it's probably just that. Not a big deal, but I don't have any suggestions other than X99 usb quirk.

Thanks.

Zero problems here.

Sounds like a BIOS config or mobo conflict issue

Zero problems here.

Thanks.

I've also had no issues with my one either, so I figured it's an X99 issue, but thought I would ask anyway. X99 definitely has some usb gremlins, I had few minor ones when I had it (I passed it on to him when I upgraded), oh well not a big issue, he can work around it.

Can I have views on Cyclone 2 vs 8BitDo Ultimate 2 vs Nova Lite vs EasySMX please? Need to order a new controller and these 4 have my eye. It's for PC and Deck use only and whilst I would prefer wireless I also am happy with just wired.

The Cyclone 2 is the better one out of all of those, it has better specs and build quality too as well as features inc full remapping of the buttons etc.

Ive had 3 out of those 4 - Cyclone is excellent. Nova Lite is a great entry-level/budget controller (although it misses some essential Switch features), we bought 4 for the price of a single Switch Pro controller .
I bought the EasySMX X10 and although some great features, it died within a matter of weeks (just stopped charging).
Can also highly recommend the Gulikit KK3 Max, but hard to justify it compared to the Cyclone 2 at half the price.

My Cyclone 2 and base that I ordered on 9th March from UK Geeky place turned up today. First impressions are that it is rather small although it does sit nicely in the hand and grip is very good. Both top rear buttons (LB/RB) are terrible though, it's like I have to dislocate my fingers or completely change my grip to use them, they needed to be quite a bit lower to be perfect for me. The joysticks are nice and grippy but again, small. I will give it a go but I can see me selling this on.
