The reason my account is banned is because I did not pay for the gold membership as my card details were out of date, and so they were trying to charge a non existant card I didnt have access to the xbox and so could not update the details. I got an email to say my gold membership had been cancelled but nothing of an account suspension or ban.
Just spent 40 mins on the phone with a guy who basically told me that microsoft dont care about me as a customer...which was nice.
Again that makes no sense. If they did not terminate your gold access when the paid for service expired then it is their fault not yours. why would you expect it? He didn't renew his subscription but they kept it live for two months and then expect him to pay for it even though he didn't use or ask for it!!!
